Plante grow by a procese which is called Photo-synthesie, which is started or triggered by light, s0 all plante need some form ligh tot survive, came will survive in f ull sun and others do, juet as well in semi-shade. Light for indoor plants can be divided into 4 basic light categories.: Sunny areas: This area will receive at least 5 hours of direct sunlight even during the winter monthe with its shorter hours. A window facing south- east ta south-west will receive that much light in the Durham Region. Since very few plante can withstand the direct sunlight coming through a window, most plants should be protected with sheers during the hot hours, between il a.m. and 3 p.m. and thîs particular- ly true during the winter monthe when the show is on the ground and will increase the light intensity by as much as 30 per cent, and light painted buildings directly op- posite the window where your p lants are will1 increase the light intensity.
