<q4,e4~ 1f~a4 St. Paul's United Church, Bowmanville was the scene of a lovely wedding on Saturday, June 2nd, 1979 at 3 o'clock, when Reverend E. Schamer- horn united in marriage Bonnie Burgess, and Wayne Myers. Mi'. Douglas Dewell was, the organist. The bride's parents are Mr'. and Mrs. Jack Burgess, R.R. 4, Bowmanville, and the groom's parents, Mrs. V. Myers, 77 Elgin St., Bowman- ville and the late Mi'. Vincent Myers. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of white matte jersey, which featured a mandarin neckline, long sleeves with organza inserts and appliques of French lace on the bodice and sleeves. The double skirt had a coat effect which fell gracefully into a matching train. A matching bridai hat with finger tip veil complemented the gown and she carried a cascade bouquet of silk, red roses, lily of the valley andi sweet peas. The matroix of honor Chris Anger, wore a formai gown of soft, yellow silk jersey with short lace jacket and carried a nosegay of white daîsies and blue baby's breath. The bridesmaids wei'e Brenda and Barbara Burgess, sisters of the bride and Joanne Myers, sister of the groom. They wore matching formal gowns of soft, aqua blue silk jersey with short lace jackets, and carried nosegays of yellow daisies and white baby's breath. The best man was Bill Waller and the ushers were Garf Burgess, brother of the bride, Gary Phayre and Wayne Allin. The groom, best man and the ushers wore dark blue tuxedoes and white ruffled shirts trimmed with blue. The groom's boutonniere was a red silk rose with baby's breath, the best man's, white daisy with blue baby's breath, and the ushers, yellow daisies and white baby's breath. The father of the bride wore a royal blue tuxedo, light blue shirt and a white carnation boutonniere. - At the reception held at the Lions Centre the bride's mother received the guests in a formai gown of robin egg blue, matching coat of French lace and a corsage of pink roses and white carnations. Assisting in receiving the groom's mother wore a formal gown of silver blue silk with a corsage of peach roses and white carnations. Leaving for a honeymoon at Myrtle Beach, S.C., the bride wore a two piece dress of peach silk linen and a corsage of yellow roses and white carnations. Mi'. and Mrs. Myers are now residing in Bowmanville. Prior to the wedding the bride was honored at showers given by Linda Paterson and Faye Watt; Mrs. V. Myers and Joanne; Vonnie Sharman and' Marg Gray, Chris Anger and Gwen Coombes; Salem Community; ,Donna Cochrane, Judy, Debbie, Barb and Marylou, and Nora Stenson. Elizabeth Skelding and Ruth Wilson were presented with a framed presentation of the Collect as a momento of their association with the Blackstock W.I. Each replied fittingly. Mrs. Skeld- ing has invited the W.I. to ber home for the meeting in September. Plans were made to assist the Werry Picnic on July 2lst. It was decided to sponsor a child's class at the Amateur Show at Blackstock Fair in' connection with the International Year of the Child. Mrs. V.
