It ail began on Saturday hene when they lost to Belleville 10-7, but we seem to recail a game against Ajax last Wednesday that ended in a one-sided score for the visitons and is better forgotten. On Sunday, the Kendal Eagles came to town and won 5-3 aften a sudden spunt about the seventh by the Merchants closed the gap a bit. On Monday, barely enough players to man the field went to Belleville where the Merchants wene handed thein founth loss in a now 7-1. They play in Saturday in Oshawa and Sunday in Kendal. Barko The past week Bowmanville L & L Tool Juveniles played three games and came out witb 2 wins - 1 loss. The team has been playing good bail and continues to improve. Team spirit is a major factor. On the 7th of July, the team travelled to Keene and came home defeated. The game was very close, with the final score being 12 -11. John Storgaard was on the mound and had relief help fromn Paul Sero. Storgaard had one run, Sero collected a double and a single. Brad Godfrey, wbo was behind the plate, hit the last run and had two singles. Dean Rutherford had 3 runs, bit a double and is credited with 2 RBI's. Two runs were hit out by Scott Linton. Jeff Edmondson had one run and a double. Marc Richards, Dean Pegg and Steve Cole also brougbt in runs. Juveniles then hosted Little Britain on Sunday, July 8, and came out with a 13 - 5 vîctory. Rick Bain pitched the bulk of the game, but had relief help from Mark Luxton in the sixth. Bain is credited with an RBI. In the first inning, Jeff Edmondson, Mark Luxton ard Brad Godfrey hit out ruas. Luxton with 2 doubles and a triple, Godfrey a double. The second inning beld another three runs which were brought in by Dean Rutherford, Edmondson and Luxton. Ken Cowle bit the first run in the third, Rutherford and Luxton following. The score then being 9 -0. The last four runs came in the seventb bit by* John Storgaard, Kevin Gibson, Rutherford and Edmondson. Little Britain had 3 runs in the eightb and 2 in the ninth, the final score 13 - 5. Thursday, July 12, Bowman- ville travelled to Port Hope and the game was justsbort of a disaster. Tension was higb with each team and there were many conflicts between teams and umpires. In, the first inning Dean Rutherford started off the hits.Luxton, following, bit a double and is credited an RBI. Rick Bain also bit a double. Joe Nowlan knocked out a home run over lef t field fence bringing in Luxton and Bain. Jeff Edmondson bit a double bringing in Ken Cowle and Jean Rutherford. Bain bit a single and brougbt in Edmondson and Luxton in tbe second. Cowle got the first hit in tbe third, a double. Kevin Gibson bit a single. Rutherford bit a double and brougbt in Cowle. Joe Nowlan followed bis own footsteps and put anotber one out over left field fence bringing in Luxton and Rutberford. Paul Sero also got a run that inning, putting the score at 14-1. No otber bits were made for Bowmanville until the eigbtb, wben Rutberford, Bain, and Nowlan came in, with the score tben 17 - 5. Cowle, Storgaard and Ruther- ford brought the last tbree runs in, wbile Port Hope bit another two runs making the final score 20 - 7. Joe Nowlan pitched the distance of the game and did a fine job. Assistant coach Glen Edmondson kept tempers from getting out of band on the field and bench.
