Mrs. Irene Burley of Bow- manville was a weekend visitoit with Mrs. Lena Clysdale and the two of them with Mrs. V. Gilmer enjoyed Sunday luncheon at the Voyageur Restaurant where they were served by Master Ken Gilmer. The Wood Family Picnic was held on Sunday afternoon at Haydon at the old school now a Community Centre. About 57 were in attencTance, and ail enjoyed the get together. Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Ken Fletcher included Mrs. Teresa Campbell, daughter Carol and friend, Frank, of Toronto also Mr. Don Fletcher and friend, of Oshawa. Mrs. Leone Lane was a supper guest Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gray and girls in Orono. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Gilmer of Islington were dinner guests, Saturday with Mrs. V. Gilmer and Sunday visitors with the' latter, included Mr. and Mrs. Phil Gilmer, daughter Kim and friend Rosalie Tac-co, Mrs. Lena Clysdale, Mr. and Mrs. Jim' Gilmer. of Port Hope, Miss Inez Symons, Mrs. Bea Jones and Mrs. Mary Jones. Jim Miller of Newcastle was one of the big buyers with a trailer load of articles, including a McLaughlin cutter made in Oshawa many years ago. Apparently it had been found in somebody's barn and put in the sale. The other photo shows some of the younger Kendal area youngsters trying out a couple of auctioned television sets. Glad to hear Mr. Bud Virtue îs improving in Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville- and able to receive visitors. Among those attending the Bine day Bail Game in Toronto, Thursday2 evening were Mrs. Bea Jones and Mr. and Mrs. M. Jones. Recent visitors with Mrs. Agnes Burley, and Mr. and Mrs. Don Vinkie were Mrs. E. McEwen, of Peterborough, Mr. Harold Burley of Bridge- north, and Mr. and Mrs. Ron Burley of Newcastle. A crowd of- about 170 attended the 25th wedding anniversary celebration in honor of Erma and Reid Wood in Orono Arena Hall Saturday evening. There were eight tables in play at the card party in Community Hall, Friday evening with the following winners - High man- Bill Morley, 50-50 Draw- May Burley, High Lady- Bea Jones, Men's Draw- Jim Lomas, Mrs. Gordon, Ladies' Draw- Carol Kirkton, E. Walton. Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Jones, with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Britton of Oshawa attended the 25th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Neil Britton in Belleville on Saturday evening.
