Mr. and Mrs. Frank Glas- bergen Sr. were also given a surprise party on Saturday at the borne of their son, Mn. and Mrs. Frank Glasbergen Jr. andl 'amîly. The party took the fonm of a family dinner with their five sons, their wives and families and their only daughter Connie, hubby Auke and family. These included Mn. and Mrs. Frank Glasher- gen Sr. of Orono, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Glasbergen and family of Newt nville, Mr. and Mrs. Ceorg&e Glasbergen and family of Oshawa, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Glasbergen Jr. and family of Yelventon, Mr. and Mrs. Auke Van DerMeer and farnily of Cedar Creek, Mr. and Mrs. Case Glasbengen and family of Ajax, and Mn. and Mrs. Johnny Glasbergen of Port Perry. Also in attendance were cousins of the family, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Glasbergen of Oshawa and Mr. and Mrs. Bill VanVleet, Stoney Creek and Mr. and Mrs. Rodenbung of Oshawa. Following a bountiful salad dinnen some ten local couples from Our Yelverton community joined the throng to bonor Frank and Elizabeth on the occasion of tbeir 45th Wedding Anniversany. Tbe Glasbergens were married in Holland on Sept. 26, 1934. In recognition of the auspicious occasion, the Glasbergens were subjected to a ratber "nyebald" (or should tbat be ribald) poem which dealt rather factiously witb their years tbey lîved on the farm soutb of Yelverton. On bebaif of their Yelverton friends tbey were presented witb a 45th Anniver- sary Plate (amethyst in color) and six tumblers of Pinwbeel crystal by Mrs. Eileen Malcolm and Mrs. Cornie Malcolm. Two lovely cakes were presented for the occasion, one to eat an d a lovely masterpiece concocted for the occasion by Marlene Glasher- gen. The balance of the evening fletted away quîckly ini raucous repartee as only one can enjoy with this fun loving Dutcb-Canadian family. Elizabeth and Frank'expres- sed their gratitude for the gifts and pleasant evening anranged for them and to Marlene and Fnank who bore the brunt of planning the festive occasion. Most of the Glasbergens' nineteen grand- cbildren were in attendance. Eanlier a family portrait was taken to be given to the Glashergens to mark this happy event.
