Edgerton, 69, beloved busband of Marion (Samis) passed away at MemorialHospital, Bowman- ville on Sunday, September 23rd, 1979. Born in Nestieton, he lived in Bowmanville before moving to Newtonville where he spent his last 23 years. A member of the Newton- ville United Church, he was emlyd25 years at the Goderplant in Bowman- ville. Mr. Edgerton is survived by Marion, his wife of 33 years. Reverend Tizzard of New- tonville- officiated at the service held at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home. Committal followed the service in the chapel. Inter- ment Lake View Cemetery in Newtonville. SARAH ESTELLA BILLETT A highly respected citizen of the area, Sarah Estella Billett (Virtue), aged 86,' beloved wife of the late Albert Edward Billett, passed away in Memorial Hospital, Bowman- ville on Wednesday, Septem- ber l9th, 1979. She had been iii for six months. Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John James Virtue, Ennîskil- len, she had taught at Shaw Business College, living and working in Toronto for many years prior to her retirement 46 years ago. After studying music at the Ontario Ladies College, she taught piano for several years. A member of the United Church, Mrs. Billett belonged to both the Women's Institute and the Trinity Fellowship Club, and was secretary- treasurer of the Hampton Union ICemnetery. Mrs. Billett is survived by a sister, Mrs. (Dr.) C.W. Siemon of Niagara Falls, her two sons, Dr. K.A. Billett of Bowmanville and Fred J. Billett of Scarborough, several gr andchildren and great grandchildren. 1 Reverend John Peters offi- ciated at the service held the following Saturday in Bow- manville at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home. Floral ar- rangements were- placed by botb the Hampton and Bow- manville Women's Institutes. Palîbearers were Dr. Harold Slemon, Dr. Keith Siemon, William Price, Doug- las Billett, Dr. Jerome Billett and Stephen Billett. Interment at Hampton Union Cemetery. F. GORDON DAVIS A former teacher at West- mount School in Oshawa prior to working at General Motors, Oshawa, in the parts' and service merchandizing section for 37 years, retiring in 1974, F. Gordon Davis died at the family homestead, East Whitby Township, near Kedron, on Friday, September 21, 1979. He completed his early education at Maxwell Sehool and Oshawa Collegiate and had attended Teachers' College in Peterborough where he married the former Pearl Carruthers in 1934. For many years Mr. Davis was active in the board of session of Simcoe Street United Church, and in the 8th Oshawa Sea Scout Group Committee and local Boy Scout Association. Since his retiremfent he had been an active volunteer Cancer Society driver. He is survived by is wife, Pearl of Oshawa; a daughter, Mrs. James Hall (Marilyn), and a son, Peter, both of Oshawa; four grandchildren; and a brother, Ralph cf Solina. He was predeceased by two brothers Harold and Walter. Mr. Davis rested at the Hay of Kendal; eight grand- children and seven great grandchîldren.
