He then released a low, accurate wrist shot to score the tying goal. Greg Brunt gave, the Eagles the go-ahead goal next, receiving a perfect pass from Brad Godfrey after Jerry Johnston had moved the puck up ice. Eagles had a goal taken away from tbem on a referee's decision that a man was in the crease, being deposited there by a Lindsay crosscheck. The second period started out with another waved-off Eagle goal. This time it was a good cali as the puck was kicked into the net. The Eagles moved in front by two goals on the strength of persistent checking inside the Muskies' zone by Eagle Captain Jerry Johnston who gained control of the puck and passed to Brad Godfrey who waited for the goaltender to make the first move. Godfrey then deposited the puck hehind him. Rick Bain also earned an assist on the play. Just il seconds later, Muskies returned to score on a giveaway by Eagles wbich Bill Speer converted into a goal. A single penalty caîl to Mark Berney started tbe Muskies on a tbree-goal scoring spree in tbe brief period of 62 seconds. The little speedster Brian Duncan scored on the power play. Then otber goals by Gary Mansholt and Dave Meehan on well-executed play gave the Muskies a 5-4 lead. The next series of events bas no place in the game of bockey. A complete lack of self control took place in tbe vicinity of thé Lindsay bench, fortunately no one was burt seriously. Wben the play finally resumed, Brad Godfrey broke in, skated across in front of the net and scored on' the back band. Eagles gave up a later period goal when Pbil Hennessey scored from the sharp angle. Tbe tbird period saw a display of great goaltending by Muskies' Randy Paul who held the Eagles scoreless on six power plays. Mention should also be made of tbe several sure goal saves made by Jerry Leddy near tbe end of tbe game wben tbe Eagle goalie bad been pulled for an extra attacker.
