Courtice United Church celebrated its -25th anniversary beginning with a buff et dinner Saturday, evening, November l7th when between 175 - 200 friends, past and present church members, enjoyed a most- delicious Smorgasbord. The church was filled with "music for easy listening" played by Mrs, Peggy Wade on the organ. Pictures and memorably articles were on display of the past 25 year happenings as well as a newly formed picture gallery of past ministers of Courtice Church and of Courtice charge for many years up to the present, Rev. Robt. Chapman. Sunday, November 18, the morning 25th anniversary service saw many old acquaintances joining in worship with -the Rev. Dermott Arscott f rom Prescott,, Ontario as guest speaker. A coffee hour was enjoyed following the service at which time anniversary cake w as served with tea and coffee. An evening service with the ministery of Albert St. Church the Rev. A. Macintosh as guest speaker and the Albert Street Choir joined with the Courtice choir, giving three choral numbers under the capable leadership of Albert Street organist Paul Beevor. JOHN AMBULANCE THANKED BY COUNCIL Durham's Regional Coun- cil has given the St. John Ambulance organization a vote of thanks for the work it did in the recent Missis- sauga train derailment. Acting on a motion from Councillor Bill Clarke, the Region took this action on November 14 at its regular meeting. Local members of the St. John Ambulance from across the Durham Region helped out at the Missis- sauga disaster, conditions may be 'to blame, such as improper cleansing, hormonal imbalance, nerves, poor diet, even humid weather. A good treatment is necessary for this type of skin. Kqeeping the skin in an acidbalanced condition is essential. This' prevents suseptibility to mnvading bacteria wbicb can contribute to infection.
