Brooklin Horticultural Society Holds Potluck and, Awards Night As befits the festive season, Good Food and Good Will were in abundance at the Annual Pot Luck Supper and Awards Night, held b y the Brooklin Horticultural Society on November 28 and lattended by more than 80 people. 1The United Cburch Hall was tastefully decorated and two beautiful floral arrangements created and donated by Doris Marlow graced the Head Table. The remaining tables held potted silver branches with red bows, designed by Joan Brak and ber committee, as well as small sachets of potpourri. President John Jefferies welcomed members and guests and special guest, Viola Gillion,' Director of District 5, following whicb Rev. Boyce Elliott said Grace. The supper itself, took tbe form of a buffet witb delectable dishes provided by the ladies of the club, served by Verna Osbawa's public Transit's operating costs have crept past the $1 million mark. After the installation of Officers the presentation of awards took place, the winners being: lst prize for Highest Points, donated, and presented by John Jefferies, was received bv Audrev 1 cup evaporated skim milk, chilled in freezer until very cold 1cup liquid skim>miik, very cold grated nutmeg 1. Slowly add cold evaporated skim milk to beaten egg yolks, beating with electric mixer. Add skim milk and continue beating. 3. Pold in beaten egg whites until mixture is smootb and foamy. Pour into 6 punch cups.' Sprinkle with grated nutmeg. Serves 6. Young; 2nd Prize, donated by Weall and Cullen, was won by Cyril Wick and presented by Audrey. Young; 3rd prize, donated by the Emporium, won by Gibb Marlow, was presented by, Valerie Hundert. Tbe Rose Bowl Trophy donated by the Brooklin Horticultural'Society for a new member with the higbest, points went to Lyla Alian and presented by Ken Brown. The Membersbip award donated, by Earle and Dorotby Sand- ford, was' won by Paul Hundert for obtaining the highest number of new and renewal members. Special awards were presented to Alice Dodd and Dorothy Barter nnd Allan Foss conducting the installation of Officers. Also, John Jefferies as retiring President received a gift from the Society which was presented by Margaret Beath. In his closing remarks, Mr. Jefferies thanked the Executive for their bard work and co-operation during bis two year term as President. At, the close of the festivities, a short meeting was called by the new President, Valerie Hundert and the Executive appointed' Margaret Beath, Joan Brak and Margaret Davis as Secretary, Assistant Sect'y and Treasurer respectively. Valerie then asked for the co-operation of all the Executive members in making the Society as productive and successful as it bas been in the past.
