We are frequently called upon to record record the death of our older citizens but this week we are sorry to announce the passing passing away of one who was entering manhood, manhood, whose prospects in life were promising promising and whose sudden taking away was a sad blow to his parents, brothers, sisters and friends. We refer to Percy I. Manning, Manning, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Manning, King-st., who. passed away Thursday evening following an operation for appendicitis. The funeral took place Saturday afternoon service being conducted conducted by his pastor, Rev. H. B. Kenny. The bearers were six companions, Messrs. Gordon Rice, Delbert Crowle, Harold Osborne, Leon Dumas, Jack Mayers and Chas. Bagnell. Deceased was employed in Mr. T. H. Knight's Grocery, was a young man with a - bright future • before him being a general favorite with his companions and the public with whom he came in contact. The floral offerings were very many and very beautiful including including sprays and wreaths frcm Misses Rena Blake, Margaret and Elsie Harrison, Toronto, Bowmanville Epworth League, his fellow employees of the model grocery, nine boy companions, his uncles Messrs, Charles and Arthur Burgess, and a large number of friends and neighbours in town and coud ry. The sympathy of all ; our citizens is extended to the here aved ones in this sudden and unexpected hour of trial. CARD OF THANKS. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Manning desire to thank all their friends for the very kindly sympathy and beautiful floral offerings given during the illness and death of their son Percy.
