A gentlewoman of noble qualities of lead and heart and one - who has lived argely for others passed to her reward on Sunday evening January 16th in . th- person person of Mrs. Mary Lawrie, widow of James Lawrie. She has been ailing for some months but on Christmas eve went to the home of her son-in-law where she received received every care and attention. The funeral took, place Tuesday afternoon to Union cemetery, service being conducted by Rev John Garbutt, pastor ot Simcoe-St Methodist Methodist church, in the absence thru illness of her pastor, Rev. J. S. I. Wilson. The bearers were Messrs. P. Kyle, W. Bunt, A. Goulthard, L. M, Brooks, W. Jacobi and James Bishop. Her husband . predeceased predeceased her fifteen years. She leaves to mourn the loss of a loving mother and counsellor two sons and two daughters all of whom were present during the closing closing weeks of her life and at the funeral-- R. W. Lawrie, Erie, Pa., Mrs. J. J. Crosk- effi and Mr. W. John Lawrie, Oshawa; and Mrs. F. A. Tattersall,- Burley, Idaho, U. S.
