Rundle has improved his house by reshingling reshingling it... .The graders were at work- last week on Kingston Road and have made an immense improvement...... Epworth League drew over 60 to our church on Fr'day night. Mrs. Courtice, President opened the service and after singing^ Mr. G. F. Annis led in prayer. Lesson was read by Miss -A. Pickell, and Topic given by Miss V. Werry. Program Program included, solo by Mrs. Anni-; a piano solo by Miss M. Gardiner; duet by Pastor and Mrs. Delve; and reading by Miss A. Osborne. A Literary game was much enjoyed; and refreshments and candy were served. All enjoyed the j evening....Saturday afternoon Mrs. K. - Courtice (nee Miss G. Pickell) had a j visit from her Sunday School class, who called to present her with an address and some towels in honor of her marriage.... j Messrs. John Penfound, Toronto, and Roy Penfound, Oshawa, were home Sabbath.. Our Sunday School officials effected an j exchange of Library books with Zion ! A. j Short's.... Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rundle : and Mr. and Mrs. L. Hare, Toronto, spent Sunday at Mr. James Rundle's. Thursday last the" funeral of the late Mr. Richard O. Short, aged 80 yrs who wandered in the fog of Sunday night week in search of home and was killed by a fall over the embankment at Guy's Point near Oshawa, was very, largely attended. The service was conducted at the home of his pastor, Rev. R. A. Delve, who spoke impressively from the words, "There is but a step between me and Death." An appropriate duet was sung by Mrs. W. R. Courtice and Mrs. A. E. Rundle. The body , was laid to rest in this cemetery, which has been filling up very fast of late. The pall bearers were Mess s. W. Short and J. Smith, Oshawa, A. Short,-Toronto, and John and Samuel Brooks and S. Edgar Werry, Solina, grandchildren.. Much sympathy is felt for the widow and two sons so unexpectedly unexpectedly bereft. Mr. Short was highly respected in this community where he has resided for over 60 years. Miss E. Hancock* Rochester, U. S., Mr. and Mrs. and Miss Tremeer, Mariposa, Mr. R. C. ' Short, Toryhill, and Mr. George Short, Drayton, were out for the funeral.
