Yelverton Yelverton U.C.W. sponsored a cooking demonstration in Yelverton Church Hall recently recently with Mrs. Mary Lisko providing the commentary. Around 100 lades were present to take advantage of this lady's advice with approx. 100 husbands at home patiently waiting to be guinea pigs for the little woman's next foray into a new experiment of culinary delights. Hopefully they will both survive the ordeal before again slipping back into the same dull daily routine until the next kitchen demonstration comes along. They say that if you want to bet on a sure thing, you can bet that no lady will ever live long enough to use even a fraction of all the recipes she collects during the lifetime. Last weekend, a carload of local young people motored to Sudbury to visit Mr, Gordon Plumpton formerly of Lindsay and now an employee of the "Presidents" Hotel in that city. Those making the trip were Miss Candy Malcolm, Miss Kathy Burns, Miss Caroline Van Alstine, Mr. and Mrs. Marti Malcolm and Mr. Henry Carkner. On Tuesday, LE. Weldon held held its annual election for co-chairman 1 of the students students council for'l981-82 which involves some 1,000 students more or less. This as indicated provides an opportunity for one girl and one boy each to share the top honor provided in the students council. This coming year's top boy will be Mr. Jim Pilkington of Lindsay and top girl elected is Mona Malcolm of Yelverton, our youngest daughter. Mona was fortunate to be elected by even a small margin against such comely competition as Miss Cindy Speirs of Lindsay and Miss Jennifer Kennington of Lotus (R.R. Pontypool). As you may have noticed, Paw and Maw Malcolm are pretty darned proud! Mrs. Audrie Brown attended the 21st birthday celebration for her step-grandson Mr. Jamie Pickett and attended a family luncheon in his honor, Bowmanville, May 13, 1981 * 5 ec III E ■ 8 d 8 4 5 15 E ■ 8 d 8 a. * < YOU'LL DO BETTER AT AfcP We reserve the right to limit quantities te normal family requirements!
