Susan Thompson was the guest of honour at a shower held at the home of Kathleen Dorrell on Tuesday evening. On Thursday evening Marguerite Beacock and Brenda Bryant were cohosted cohosted a shower in honour of Louise VanCamp at Norma's home. Mrs. Wilbur Toms, Les and Ann Taylor, Eileen McLaughlin, Wilma VanCamp, Joan Graham and Joyce Kelly were among the many guests who called to help celebrate Mrs. Elgin Taylor's 85th birthday at the Open House in her honour at her home on Wednesday afternoon. There were 18 tables. On Tuesday afternoon quite a number of relatives and friends attended the funeral.of the late Miss Edna Vance at McDermott - Panabaker Funeral Home, Port Perry. Quite a number from this area attended Pioneer Days at the Scugog Shores Museum over the weekend. Some took part in the demonstrations or musicial programmes while others were there are interested spectators. On Wednesday evening the Cartwright Rangers held their annual Fashion show at the Blackstock Recreation Centre. GUIDANCE ROOMS Improvements to the guidance rooms at Bowmanville Bowmanville High School were approved last week at the regular meeting of the Northumberland and Newcastle Board of Education.
