Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Phillips of Wembley, England England were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Wolfe, Many friends from this area attended the induction service of Rev. Reg. Rose into his new parish in Scarborough Scarborough on Sunday evening. Mrs. Ken Samells attended the wedding of her granddaughter granddaughter Kathy Samells to Roger Hewitt in St. Paul's Church, Bowmanville and spent the weekend with her •cousin ' Mrs. Amanda McLean in Bowmanville. Rev. and Mrs. Merle Thompson, Regina, Mrs. Donald Thompson of Nestle- ton were Monday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Thompson. On the weekend the girls and their leaders that had gone to England during the summer enjoyed a reunion at the cottage on Lake Scugog of Miss Booke, one of their leaders. Enjoying another trip through pictures and visiting were- Susan Sheen, Anne Hoogeveen, Julie Bryant and Eleanor Kelly from Blackstock. On Wed. Sept. 15th, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wright celebrated celebrated their 62nd Wedding Anniversary. They, were guests of honour at a family dinner party co-hosted by daughter Kathleen and Dorothv at Kathleen's home. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Wright, Jim and Dorothy Marlow, Dalton and Kathleen Kathleen Dorrell. Heartiest congratulations congratulations and best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Wright. The Durham Region Horseback Riding for the Handicapped Association Ride-a-thon will be held this Saturday, Sept. 25th at Hoskin Stables. Trophies will be awarded to the individual rider with the highest earnings. All riders will receive crests. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hope visited Mildred's brother-in- law Leonard Stainton in Bowmanville Hospital on Monday. Next Sunday weather permitting there will be a Church Hayride at 3:30 p.m. at Roy McLaughlin's farm for all people of the Black- stock United Church. Come and enjoy the fun and fellowship. fellowship. On Sat. evening Howard Bailey hosted a party at the family cottage at View Lake. Friends were present from Blackstock, Port Perry and other areas. The 4-H members met on Thurs. Sept. 16th. The club name is still undecided. All members got a chance to help make a pizza and all enjoyed a slice of the finished finished product.
