Blake with 19 members present. The devotional service was based on 23rd psalm taken by B. Blake and Friendship prayer read by M. Quinney and a fail poem by H. Milne. During the summer our social convenor I. Anonichuk sent out cards to sick and shut-ins. We had a lemonade and cake booth during the Sidewalk Sale which proved beneficial as a social meeting place for friends to meet and visit as well as a fund raising project. The A.C.W. Martha group assisted in this effort, too. This Sunday, Sept. 19th, at 11 a.m. service the Rev. Joseph De Pencier - Wright will ne the guest speaker in celebrating of the 150th anniversary. The fall rummage sale, Thursday, October 14th, 10-4 p.m. will be held in the Parish Hall with refreshments served. On Saturday, October 23rd the "Parish Fair" will be in the Great Hall 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. celebrating our 150th anniversary. Everyone is cordially invited to attend and enioy the celebrations. The annual Synod for 1982 is being held in Diocesan Centre St. James Cathedral, Toronto on September 23,24,25th. Two Lay Members to Synod will attend - Mrs. B. Blake and Mrs. F. Snider. One of the main, goals "Anglican's in Mission" will be thoroughly discussed and perhaps finalized. A pre-Synod meeting will be held in Millbrook Anglican Church this Thursday night. Oshawa's Sweet Adelines Prepare for Anniversary @ Pltch-ln and Keep Canada Beautiful Do you like to sing? Perhaps this is the year you should join the thousands of women who have discovered the thrill of singing barbershop harmony. Sweet Adelines is an international international organization of women 'dedicated to the teaching and singing of four-part harmony, barbershop style. The Oshawa chorus is proud to be celebrating celebrating their 25th Anniversary this year and are setting a goal to be a bigger and better chorus. There are many outlets for creativity within the chorus including choreography, make-up and costume design. During the month of September, September, the chorus will be .preparing for its 25th Anniversary Anniversary celebration being held on October 4th. Guests will include nearly two hundred previous members. November will be started off with a bang as the chorus dedicates the entire evening on Monday, November 1st to its annual guest night. The program for the evening will include demonstrations by the chorus and (juartets on the artistry of singing four-part harmony. During the months of December and January these ladies will be rehearsing for their show being held at East- dale Collegiate on February 5, 1983, after which they will be preparing for their annual ' competition next April held in Hamilton, Ontario. The chorus meets regularly on Monday evenings at 8:00 p.m. at the Glen Stewart Park Clubhouse, on the corner of Cabot and Cartier Streets in Oshawa. Anyone interested in finding out more about this exciting hobby is welcome on any rehearsal night or can call 725-0113 for more information.
