The devotional on "Wisdom" was taken by Sandra Mclnnis and Carolyn Gilmer. The President Rowena Tizzard read several papers. Regional meeting it Hampton on Tuesday, October 26th at 9.30. Anyone wishing to attend is to contact her. One Day's Pay and Jack Frost Articles to be given at this time. The secretary's report by Bernice Henderson, the treasurer's by Shirley Stapleton, the Sunshine by Dorothy Stapleton and the social functions by Olive Henderson were then given. She reminded us of the Masonic banquet that we were catering to on Sat. Oct. 16th at Newcastle Hall. Various bazaars were read and ours to be Sat. Nov. 20th from two to four. The Guides would make posters again this year. A bus trip to Waterloo Market, St. Jacob's and Elmira on October 23rd, and another trip to the Royal Winter Fair on Sunday, November 14th were also discussed. Shirley Stapleton also gave a report on the carpeting on the entranceway, and decided to decorate the windows in the entrance. A committee was appointed for this task. The pictures of the quilt display by Dorothy Stapleton were donated by her to be mounted in the Scrapbook. Dora De- Smit agreed to buy a new vacuum cleaner. The meeting closed with the Benediction and the committee committee served lunch followed by a social half hour. Mrs. Helen Armstrong and family of Millbrook were dinner guests on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Stapleton. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Henderson of Orono were dinner guests on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Trueman Hendeerson. Dr. Dorothy Hill of Toronto was a luncheon guest on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Farrow. Several players and fans of Kendal Hard Ball held their banquet and dance at the Orono Community Centre on Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Henderson were dinner guests on Sunday with Mr. ana Mrs. Bev. Henderson of Campbell- ford. An evening of progressive euchre will be held for their first party of the season at the Community Hall, Newtonville beginning at 8.15 on October-- 8th. A Memorial Service for the late Mr. tiren McOuat whose death occurred suddenly early Friday morning was held in the Newtonville United Church on Monday afternoon .. at 1:00 after which the ladies served lunch. Sympathy is expressed to his wife Jean, his sons Robert and Drew and the rest of his rëlatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Stapleton and family attended the "Ploughing Match" north of London on Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Stapleton, Jeff and Warren attended on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Sid Brown of Newcastle spent Saturday evening with Mr. and Mrs,' Trueman Henderson, Miss Berneice Milligan, Mrs, Sharon Buttery, Mrs. Jean O'Neill, Olive Henderson, May Burley, Elizabeth Skelding, Amelia Lancaster, Bessie Stephenson and Helen Hobbs were among those who visited with the Maple Grove . Women's Institute on Monday evening, October 4th, Mr. Gary Vandeer Gaust was the speaker from the Eldorado of Port Hope.
