Briefs Hampton Junior Public School will be fitted with energy-saving equipment as the result of an $11,600 grant from the Ministry of Education. Education. The energy retro-fit project at the Hampton school will cost an estimated $5,000 and require 130 man-hours. It includes the installation and purchase of aluminum storm and screened windows over existing windows on the north side of the school as well as repair of existing wood sash and hardware. A second school designated for an energy retro-fit is located located in Roseneath. School trustees will meet December 2 for their inaugural inaugural session, members of the Northumberland and Newcastle Newcastle Board of Education decided last week. The purpose of that meeting will be to elect a chairman and vice-chairman and to organize committees. The regular meeting scheduled for Thursday, Thursday, December 23, will be cancelled. A donation of $25 to encourage encourage students to participate in the Port Hope Science Fair was accepted last week by the Northumberland and Newcastle Newcastle Board of Education.
