Mr. and Mrs. Tim Howe, Rick Howe and Sherry Robins, Oshawa, Miss Debbie Howe, Peterborough, Fred Caskin, Orono, Karen and Marcia Tordiff, Newcastle were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Howe on the occasion of Mary Lee's 16th birthday. Many happy returns of the day, Mary Lee. Mr. and Mrs. Jake Gerryts and family, Bowmanville visited Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Piggott on Sunday. Mr. Milton Stainlon and Miss Elva Orchard, Bowmanville Bowmanville were recent visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Lome Lamb. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Trewin, Mrs. Edgar Horn were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Harry McLaughlin, Nestleton. Mr. Milton Stainton, Bowmanville Bowmanville was a Saturday caller of Mr. and Mrs. Art Leadbeater. A beautiful autumn day brought forth our worshippers to the "All Saints Day" church service on Sunday. It was indeed good to see our congregation's enlarging . Sunday by Sunday. Pastor Joe must be very pleased with the attendance at our church. He was surrounded by the eager Sunday School pupils for his very enlightening Children's Story which was based on Hallowe'en. During the departure hymn the pupils and teachers retired to the lower level for their classes. The senior choir sang a delightful anthem under the direction of their leader and organist Ulah Chambers. Joe's message was entitled "Mystery of History". A confirmation class will be beginning in the early part of next year. Interested parties should contact Mr. Lafave. The Enniskillen I 4H Dough Girls recently held an Invitational Invitational Seniors Night in connection connection with their 4 - H Bread Winners Unit. Ten Seniors met with the girls and leaders. Shirley Pollard and Barbara Howe, in the Church basement for an evening of cards and crokinole. Prizes of fresh baked bread were won by Harvey McGill and Eva Werry as high scorers in LosJ Heir, high lady and man in Euchre were won by Iva Westlake and Edgar Wright, low lady and man by Lou Griffin and Mrs. Howells. Linda Holmes and Judy Virtue very capably organized the party with special invitations to the guests and beautiful fall decorations of flowers and fruits in the room. The evening came to a close 'with' a social time and refreshments of sweet breads and/fancy rolls baked and \ served by the girls. Enniskillen U.C.W. The October 20th. evening meeting of the Enniskillen U.C.W. was held in the church. The theme "After Thanksgiving" Thanksgiving" was introduced by president Barbara Howe reading a poem entitled "Lord of the Harvest". During the business session many important items were discussed and resolved. Three generous donations were contributed to Queen's Theological University, the John Milton Society for the Blind and the annual One Day's Pay to be presented at thé Regional U.C.W. Presby- terial on Oct. 26th. for the M. and S, Fund. We also accepted an invitation to join Tyrone U.C.W. for our annual Christmas dinner meeting at The Acres restaurant on Dec. 8th, noon. Those wishing to attend should contact the committee members. The Devotionals, conducted by Lynne and Barbara, emphasized the theme of thankfulness with Hymn 197 - Now Thank We All Our God. A short reading reminded us that "our cup runneth over" for which we should be giving daily thanks. ; Guest speaker, Marjorie Ferries of Oshawa Preshyter- ial U.C.W., spoke to us of the need to not only give money but to pray for guidance in its use. Marjorie urged us to pray daily for our projects and be ready to fight for justice by writing our members of Parliament and taking a risk for our beliefs. She closed with the poem "It is more Blessed to Give than Receive". The meeting closed with a silent prayer for wise distribution distribution of our donations followed by a social hour. The Lome Lamb families were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Allan Wray, Bowmanville Bowmanville on Sunday. This gathering was in honor of a number of occasions in the form of a Bridal shower for Mrs. Sherry (Lamb) Marshal, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Don Lamb, Bailiboro. Sherry received many beautiful gifts. A very attractive cake' adorned the table in honor of Mr, and Mrs. Lome Lamb's Wedding anniversary. Congratulations Lome and Gladys. Also birthdav host wishes to Stuart and Uonald Lamb.
