Admission is free. An awards night for the Bowmanville Heritage House Gardeners' Club was held in the mall restaurant last Monday evening. Club members spent many summer hours nursing vegetable, gardens hoping their green thumbs would produce a trophy winner. When the vegetables were judged in late August, Heritage House owner Jim Vavaroutsos (right) won the award for growing the largest cucumber while Mike Lootsma (left) pulled off top honors for the largest tomato. New Executive Installed at Odd Fellows Lodge Dr. Howard Bundle was the recipient of this community services award last Saturday, November 6, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Bowmanville. The plaque is sponsored by the church and given to individuals in a community who deserve recognition for their commitment to service and to the furtherence of the good of the community.
