In the second period the Fifth Wheelers got on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal by Paul Woodlock, but Cobourg scored 2 more to go up by a 6-1 count. Craig German had the shut out for the Eagles who were led offensively by Paul Reed with three goals and one assist. Duane Major had one goal and one assist. The Eagles opened the scoring after fifteen minutes had been played. Randy MacDonald slammed home the rebound from Stan Greenham's shot after Eric Soos in the Cougars net had made a good save on the original shot. Tim Preston scored the Eagles' second goal as he tapped in the rebound off Carl Chamber's original shot. The Eagles took a 3 to 0 with only nine seconds left in the period. Later Sat. night the Toros played their 2nd game of the day, an exhibition game against a scrappy team, Goulding Park from Toronto. Scott Page again opened the scoring for us, with Brian Noble and Bob McArthur picking up assists. Chris Beck added the 2nd goal for the Toros with a slap shot from the left side - unassisted (his 20th goal of the season). The first period ended 2 - all. Scott Page scored again to open the 2nd period - Brian Noble collected another assist and George Pithie helped out also. Our 4th goal of the game came from another surprised defenseman with a shot from the point, when George Pithie passed back to Mike Colwell and he scored his first of the season. In the third period, the Toros started to overtake their tired opposition. Brian Noble quickly added two goals - Mike Colwell assisted on the second goal. Jamie Downing, completed the scoring with assists going to linemates Beck and Groves to end the game a 7 - 4 win. Nov. 7 the Toros played Belleville for another league game with goalies David Smith and Travis Martyn earning shut outs with a.score of 8 - 0 for the Toros. In the first period Glen Campbell scored the only goal assisted by Jamie Lever. The second period saw both sides with a lot of penalties but the Toros went ahead with three more goals. George Pithie put in the second goal with Noble and Page assisting. assisting. No. 3 went to Glen Campbell this time unassisted and No. 4 was by Brian Noble unassisted. In the third period the Toros added to the score as Belleville added to their 28 mins, in penalties compared to our 14 mins, in the game. Ted Groves pushed himself in spite of a bad knee and scored unassisted. George Pithie scored his second of the game again assisted by Brian Noble. Ajax provided the opposition in this Lakeshore league game. The Toros skated and worked their way to a 5-2 victory, All the boys played well, not giving Ajax a chance to get on track as they picked up their first league win of the season. Jeff Woodlock scored the only goal of the opening period unassisted. Bolahood's opened a 2-0 lead in the second when Troy Mutton scored from Scott Hanthorn and Dean Baumhauer. Ajax picked up a goal late in the second period to draw to within one. The Toros continued their strong play into the third period jumping into a three goal lead on two quick goals - one by Scott Hanthorn from Tony Van Hoof and the other by Steven Smith from Scott Hanthorn. Ajax scored their second of the game before Shane Armstrong wrapped things up with an unassisted goal. The Toros showed us all they can play disciplined hockey for three full periods.
