Credit Union The Orono District Credit Union Ltd. held their 29th Annual Meeting on Friday, March 4th at the Newcastle United Church. President, P. Loucks welcomed everyone and C. Martin said Grace. The United Church Women served 77 members, guests and their families a mouth watering roast beef dinner, complemented complemented with homemade pumpkin or lemon pies. Director, Director, H. Browes thanked the ladies on behalf of everyone present, for another great dinner. Head table guests were introduced by President, P. Loucks, Mr. A. M. Lyall and Mrs. Lyall of CUMIS; C. Martin, Director; Mrs. Leila Werry, Treasurer - Manager, Orono office; Dorothy Perfect, Perfect, Manager of Bowmanvilie office ana Joan Sutcliffe, Secretary. Business Meeting - Minutes of the 1982 Annual Meeting were approved as written on a motion by L. Werry, seconded by A. Perrin. Carried. Treasurer-Manager, Treasurer-Manager, Mrs. Wérry moved her report be accepted as printed in the Annual Report. Ron Good, Chairman of the Credit Committee, moved the report be accepted as in the Annual Report, seconded by C. Martin. Carried. Supervisory Committee Committee report was given by Ken Boyd. He moved the report be approved as printed. Bill Gilbank moved that we pay a 10 percent dividend on shares for 1982, seconded by J. Schell. Carried. Mrs. Werry read the two by-law amendments, seconded by B. Gilbank. Carried. Elections were conducted by Sandy Lyall, with G. Werry. as Nominating Chairman. Elected to the Board of Directors were Mary Clap- dorp for a two year term (1983-1985), J. Schell for a one year term (1983-1984), and Gordon Werry, Helen Browes and B. Gilbank for a three year term (1983-1986). Credit Committee nominees were Ron Good for three years (1983-1986), T. Varley for two years (1983-1985) and V. Snider for a one year term (1983-1984). Supervisory Committee member Ken Boyd was reelected reelected for a three year term (1983-1986). Marion Vanstone and Helen Browes were in charge of our Annual Meeting. For entertainment, entertainment, H. Browes introduced introduced B. Cowle, G. Hayman and Mr. Hayman. The Group's musical skits were enjoyed by young and old alike. Secondly, Marion James shared her slides with everyone, which she had taken on her 1982 summer vacation starting in Western Canada and taking in the Yukon and North West Territories. The entertainment entertainment people were presented with fresh roses by H. Browes and D. Perfect. The Lucky Door Prize winners were as follows: Bruce Taylor drew the winning winning ticket for the CUMIS prize - winner was Gord Mills; Curvply Wood Products - Plydesigns prize drawn by Mary Clapdorp - winner was Jean Taylor; J. A. Smith draw was made by C. Martin, winner - Joan Sutcliffe; J. Schell made the draw for St. Marys, winner - Ruth Perrin; Durham Farmers Co-op drawn by Wilf Burrus, winner - Eileen Billings; The Co- operators' prizes were drawn by Sandy Lyall - winners were Mrs. Blewett and Barb Ingram; Dennison donated four prizes, drawn by Ken Œ *. Winners were A. ard, Fred Brown, Mrs. Bailey and Ruth Yeo. The Board of Directors prize, donated by H. Browes and drawn by Helen, winner was Mrs. Gilbank. Newton ville Mrs. W. Milligan and Ber- neice, Mrs. Dora De Smit, Mrs. Bea Jones and Mrs. Jean Jilisen were among those who attended the pot luck luncheon and dinner at Kirby on Thursday evening. Mrs. Isabel Watters, Lynda Holstege and Mr, George McKinnon returned last Sunday evening from their, motor trip to Palm Beach, Florida. They also attended the musical at Nashville on Saturday evening. Mrs. Ruth Connelly of Welcome with Mrs. Acy Farrow visited Mrs, Bertha Elliott of Millbrook on Sunday. Berneice Milligan's group of the Women's Institute are making plans to attend the Nuclear Plant at Oshawa on Wednesday, March 16th leaving leaving Newcastle at 12.30 and returning to Mrs, _Helen Hobbs' for the rest of the meeting. Mr. arid Mrs. Don Vinkle spent Mrs. Mr. Raymond Bruce and Mrs. Isabel Watters were dinner guests on Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Herb Gibson's of Bowmanvilie.
