Switzer, aged 47, occurred suddenly in Oshawa, on Tuesday, Tuesday, February 22nd, 1983, as the result of ah industrial accidènt. Born and educated in Gooderham, he was the son of Rueben and Catherine Switzer, and was married on October 5th, 1962, to Doreen Mitchell. He was employed as a laborer at the Fittings. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Doreen, daughter Pamela, his mother Mrs. C. Switzer, Lindsay, brothers Earl of Bobcaygeon, Norman of Winnipeg, Murray of Toronto and sister Doreen; (Mrs. Robertson), Burlington.' He was predeceased by his father. The funeral services were held on Friday, with the Reverend N.E. Schamerhorn and the Reverend Roger Maggs officiating. Pallbearers were Messrs. Charlie Campbell, Tom Cawker, George Clarke, Ray McCall, Jim Cawker, Frank: Ç.errault, Bob Snodden, Lance Plain and Bill Sellers. Interment Bowmanville Cemetery.
