She sleeps through the night without without a two a.m. pit stop. She watches you, not with the vague gaze of a baby (which suggests suggests that she cannot pick you out from the pattern in tne wall) but with the steely gaze of an experienced experienced observer of the human scene. Hands can hit their target, grasp and shake things. As you may have noticed before, becoming a father has made me think about not only childhood itself, but also the adult world. Sometimes, I can see lessons from the child's world which would be useful to us as adults. This week, I was struck by the following thought: Why do we have so many milestones marking the progress of children but so few similar similar milestones in the adult years? Children go through achievements that are common to all normal youngsters, regardless of their nationality, nationality, degree of'wealth, or any other distinction. The milestones start with the first smile and go all the way to graduation, driving a car, the first date, or any other experience experience which often marks the beginning beginning of adulthood. But isn't it odd that the growth process is considered to end here? Yes, it is true that adults have milestones in their lives. These milestones might include marriage, children, job promotions, or success in a sport or community service. All of these achievements are valuable but none of them is applicable to everybody; they are very individual and personal. The adult world has no equal to the first smile or the cutting of the first tooth. Is that because of the fact that maturity is the final stage to life? Or are we simply blind to the potential for continuing development after the so-called formative years? Perhaps we need a series of milestones milestones in adult development comparable comparable to the standards used in childhood. In that way, we could continue to grow long after those first teeth and first steps. NEWTONVILLE - STARKVILLE BOWLING Team Standings Olds 79, Pontiacs 69, Chevs 66, Buicks 50.
