Celebrate 50th Wedding The Durham Dental Nurses and Assistants' Association sponsored a display at the Bowmanville Mall on Saturday in order to help promote good dental habits. Here a group of young shoppers looks over some of the information provided and also receives a free toothbrush to help take care of their teeth. One of the purposes of the display was to encourage the general public to beware of the sugar content of various foods. The Dental nurses and assistants offered a summary of the various sugar contents of breakfast cereals in order to help the public choose foods that are in the best interest of dental health. Dental nurses and assistants seated at the table include: Janet Bannon, Patti Guest, Janet Rimar, Marilyn Damant. The display was part of Dental Health Week. Salvation Army Rummage Sale Raises Funds for Building Mr. and Mrs. Alf Pigott An Open House was held Saturday, April 16th, 1983 at the Oddfellows Hall in Orono, to celebrate the 50th Wedding Anniversary of Fosetta and Alf Pigott. Friends and relatives visited the bride and groom of 50 years between 2-5 in the afternoon. Family members attending were from Brantford, Hamilton, Scarborough, New Liskeard, London, Port Perry, Hastings and surrounding area. Many cards, gifts and floral arrangements were received. Among the tributes \received were plaqués from Prime Minister Trudeau, Premier Bill Davis, Hon. Allan Lawrence M.P. - Sam Cureatz M.P.P. - Mayor Garnet Rickard - Governor General Ed. Schreyer and Leader of the opposition Erik Neilson. An enjoyable afternoon of reminiscing was enjoyed by the honoured couple and their guests. The party was given by their daughter and son- in-law Glory and Fay Adams of Orono and by their grandson and his wife Don and Ann Adams of Port Perry. Friday's sale featured a number of baked goods which disappeared very quickly. The rummage sale included this fine hand made quilt which was donated to the Salvation Army by the designer.
