WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO LIMIT QUANTITIES, ) Obituaries OLIVE MARION MOFFATT Past President of the Teacher's Federation, Olive Marion Moffatt passed away in Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville, Bowmanville, on Wednesday, April 13th, 1983, in her 74th year. Daughter of John and Lila Smith, she was born in Man- vers Township, and was educated educated at Lindsay High School, and Peterborough Normal School. On November 22nd, 1930, she married Gordon Moffatt. A resident at 141 Liberty St. N., Bowmanville for 40 years, she had been a teacher for 35 years, retiring nine years ago. Mrs. Moffatt was a member of Trinity United Church, the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 181, the Maple Grove Women's Institute, and the Tyrone Senior Citizens Club. Left to mourn her passing are her husband, sons Jack and Allen, three grandchildren grandchildren and two great grandchildren, grandchildren, sisters Iva Porteous, Mildred Braithwaite, Helen Braithwaite, and a brother Charlie Smith. The Reverend Arthur Amacher officiated at the funeral services on Friday at the Morris Funeral Chapel. Mrs. J. Albert Cole presided at the chapel organ. Pallbearers were Messrs Murray Alldread, Bill Firth, Robert Moffatt, Greg Moffatt, Russell Moffatt and Leon Braithwaite. Beautiful floral tributes were received in her memory from the Eastern Star Chapter No. 181, the Maple Grove Women's Institute and Tyrone Senior Citizens. Interment Orono Cemetery. EMMA ALBERTA MALCOLM Emma Alberta Wright was the second youngest of a family of seven born to the late Anaretta Sophia and Peter Wright in Cartwright Twsp. Born on Feb. 26, 1894, she married Rae J. J. Malcolm on March?, 1917, and farmed in Nestleton area till April 1920 when they moved to the Magistrate Neals farm south of Yelverton in Manvers Twsp. Here they farmed successfully successfully till their retirement in 1952 and moved into the village of Janetville. This farm operation was carried on by their son Harvey. In 1974, they sold their Janetville home to their grandson Mark and his wife Kathy and moved to Toronto for the winter. In July 1975, Rae died and Emma after several months with her families, moved into Uxbridge. Uxbridge. Together they raised three sons - Victor, currently of Nestleton, Harvey in the family home at Yelverton and Ralph of Don Mills. Emma was an active member of the Yelverton United Church ladies organization - the Ladies Aid which became the W. A. which eventually became became the U.C.W. She served in almost every capacity in that organization between 1926 and 1952. In her earlier years she added her musical abilities to the Yelverton Choir as an alto, and was frequently a member of a quartet group. Later, she likewise became involved in the Janetville U.C.W. and W. I. groups. Her foremost interest however, was her family to which she was quite dedicated. dedicated. Her Christian example was worthy of emulation by her family but only limited success was experienced in this endeavour. In March 1983, she fell and broke her hip and although apparently making a suitable recovery, continued to slip physically till her death on Monday, April 25th at the Dohum Nursing Home, Funeral services were conducted conducted at the McDermott- Panabaker Funeral Chapel in Port Perry with the Janet- ville-Yelverton minister Mr. Dennis Fransky providing a comforting message. The bearers were all Malcolm grandchildren - Wayne, Vernon, Mark, Jay, Marti and Mona Malcolm, Interment was held at the Malcolm family plot in Cad- mer's Union Cemetery. Emma was predeceased by her husband Rae in 1975 and by all of her brothers and sisters, (Clarence, Everett and Lucy as babies) and Elmer, Roy and Leslie Wright in the past few years. She is survived by her three sons, Victor, Harvey and Ralph, 11 grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren, greatgrandchildren,
