Morse Halt, President of Tel- Air Systems, Division of Seaway Seaway Credits Ltd., is pleased to announce the appointment of M.J. (Mike) Koster as Director of Marketing. Mr.: Koster will be located at the company's head office of 286 King St. W., Oshawa, Ontario. Mr. Koster has held various key management and marketing positions with such large organizations as IBM Canada Ltd. and Bell Canada. Mr. Koster will • be responsible to ensure that the services offered by Tel-Air Systems - telephone answering services, papers, alarm monitoring, wake-up services, plant absentee and emergency call-out are marketed throughout the Regional Municipality of Durham and surrounding area. Mr. Koster is a former Commanding Officer of the Ontario Regiment (RCAC), Oshawa and is presently an Aide-de-Camp to the Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario. Several Bowmanville Members Attend 37th B. & P. W. Conference The 37th Annual Provincial Conference of the Business and Professional Women's Club of Ontario was held at Chateau Laurier, Ottawa, on May 13,14 and 15,1983. The Conference was chaired by the President, Dolores MacLeod. Many resolutions for presentation to the Provincial Government were discussed and voted upon, such as "Training for Hearing Impaired Children," "Day Care," "Pension Legislation," "Income Requirement of Single Senior Citizens," "Equality in the Workplace," "Pornography," etc. At the Saturday luncheon, guest speaker was Miss Lucy Milne, Medicine Hat, Alta., President, Canadian Federation Federation of Business and Professional Professional Women's Club, when the gathering heard of the workings of the Federation from the national level. The speaker at the Saturday evening Banquet was the Hon. Judy Erola, Federal Minister responsible for the Status of Women, who spoke on the many Successes of Women. She is a member of the Sudbury B. & P. W. Club and credited the members of that Club and her association with other women's organizations for her successful election. The Sunday morning Devotional was conducted by members of the Belleville Club. Those attending the Conference Conference from Bowmanville were Audrey Bate, Helen Devitt, Velma Gray, Mavis Carlton and Vivian Pickard (Delegate). The 1984 Conference is to be hosted by the London and Woodstock Clubs in London. --(Submitted by Vivian Pickard) Haydon Mr. Wilbur Blackburn, on behalf of Enniskillen, attended attended the Bay of Quinte Conference, Conference, which was held at Kingston, running from Friday through Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Mayer and Kevin visited with Wayne and Diane Sheedy, New Leskard, leaving on Friday and returning Sunday night. Friday evening Mrs. Doric Christensen, June Trewin, Gladys Potts, Val Lloyd, Eileen Blackburn, Blanche Jones, Jean Slemon and Jean Garrard took in the 1983 ' Spring Production on Stage of the "Comedy Play" by Ray Cooney and John Chapman - "There Goes the Bride" at Port Perry Town Hall, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Thursday morning Mr. Douglas Jones of Toronto called on his aunt and uncle, Mr, and Mrs. J. Jones while holidaying with his mother in Bowmanville.
