A fine crowd of ladies from other areas as well as many local points enjoyed the afternoon afternoon which began with a tremendous choice of fancy desserts. Marion Larmer welcomed everyone after which Marion Carnaghan introduced the guest speaker Martha Velduis of Dundas who kept the crowd spellbound with her talk which combined combined theology, gardening, gardening, information and homespun philosophy with delightful humorous humorous manner. In her delightful delightful talk she compared compared people and plants. Mrs. Anita Davis expressed the appreciation appreciation of those present after which Eileen McLaughlin, McLaughlin, Thelma Wright and Jean Ferguson Ferguson favoured us with a number. The afternoon was a very pleasant event. Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Wolfe were Mrs. Margaret Margaret Johnson of Cameron Cameron and Mrs. Nora Bullock of Fenelon Falls. Beth and John Wolfe were Sunday evening dinner guests. The Anglican Church Supper on Sat. evening was a fine success with guests coming from many areas. Sunday luncheon guests of Gerald and Joyce Kelly and family were Bryan and Barbara Barbara Parks of Mississauga Mississauga and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Kelly of Bob- caygeon. The Sunday School students made up the choir which sang three selections during the service, It's a Small World, I'm in the Mood and Big, Beautiful Planet. A1 and Kevin Ferguson were pianists. Bethany Schryburt gave a delightful story, The Sand, The Stone, the Seed which stressed Growth which was also the topic of message given by Rev. Dale Davis. Dale also played the piano for the singing the last hymn in a very lively fashion. On Friday our Public School was well represented represented at the North Durham Track Meet held in Civic Auditorium, Auditorium, Oshawa. Many prizes were won. The following first and second prize winners in their respective age groups move on the the next level meet which will be held on Wed.
