Santa's Village at Bracebridge was a highlight of that holiday for Michael. Many area relatives returned returned home on Monday, August 8, after attending the Hendry - Schenkels wedding in Red Bank, New Brunswick. On Saturday, August 13, Bette and Win Collier hosted a family barbecue when one hundred and twenty-eight Hendry and Gray family members attended, to honour the newlyweds, Grant and Annette Hendry, and present them with a set of cookware, money and many good wishes. A great family time must have been enjoyed at Charlotte Charlotte Hendry's home last weekend when all three sons, George, Frank and Grant and families were home. Since surgery in Bowman- ville Hospital, Miss Doris Spencer has returned to the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Mr, and Mrs. Art Tuson, Mrs. Amelia Lancaster is also home from hospital but is convalescing. All her friends are requested to allow her this month at home to improve in health. Even though we would love to take some pink flowers, we will refrain from doing so, until Amelia feels rested. Mr. Herb Paeden is a patient in Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville. Mrs. May Burley entertained entertained the ladies of the" Euchre Club last Monday. Anglican News Dr. Derek Morris, Alien- hurst, New Jersey, computer engineer, Mrs. Ellen Morris, descendant of the Thorne and Wilmot families, niece Angela and nephew Alex, have teen visiting the community for two weeks. Dr. Morris has had a continuing program of renewing renewing the pipe organ in St. George's Church. This time he has been working on the keyboard keyboard and the connections from it. The organ is the original one put in the church and is well worth preserving for its sound musical tone. On August 21, at St. George's Anglican Church at 11 a.m. there will be a cemetery cemetery memorial service. This will take the place of the service usually held at St. George's Cemetery. About twenty senior citizens met at Campbellcroft this week and played cards. Also on Thursday, Mrs. H. Quan- trill, Mrs. G. Currier and family spent the day at Mr. and Mrs. - E. Elliott's cottage at Uxbridge. Mrs. Elliott's daughters and families also were there. Baseball tournaments were held at Garden Hill park on Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday. August 17, 1983 9 Durham Gladiolus Society Holds Annual Show The Durham Region Gladiolus and Dahlia Society's Society's annual show of bloom drew entries from as far away as Elkhart, Indianna.
