Miss Cathy Noden, of Cobourg, was matron-of-honor and the bridesmaids were Miss Donna Finney, sister of the bride, Miss Debbie Gilbank, cousin of the bride, Miss Karen Stewart, sister of the groom, all from Pontypool. They all carried parasols with flowers matching their gowns. The best man was Mr. Kim Shred, of Bowmanville. The ushers were Mr. Rodney Finney, cousin of the bride, Mr. Scott Stoldt, brother of the bride, and Mr. David Stewart, brother of the groom. The bride's mother received the guests wearing a formal gown of light blue polyester with burgundy embroidered over cape, beige accessories and a corsage of burgundy Sweetheart roses. Ebenezer United Church, Courtice was the setting for a lovely wedding on Saturday, September 17th, 1983 at 4:00 p.m. when Catherine Louise Osborne was united in marriage with John Kerry McKay. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Osborne of Courtice, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith McKay of South Lancaster. The Reverend Mark Elliott performed the double-ring ceremony. The wedding music was played by a friend of the family, Mrs. Lloyd Down of Courtice and an uncle of the bride, Mr. Murray Osborne of Courtice sang "Walk Hand in Hand", "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art." A wedding dinner was held in the Ebenezer C.E. Hall and a dance was held in Tyrone Hall where the bride's mother received the guests wearing a formal royal blue gown.
