Haldenby on Sunday. Sympathy is extended to friends and relatives of Bertha Graham (Hardy) who passed away at Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville on Friday, October 28. Mrs. Graham was the wife of Frederick H. Graham, mother of Albert, grandmother of John and Jana. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Powell were in Oakwood on Saturday, guests of Mr. and Mrs. Seldon Parker and with them attended attended the charter night of Oak- wood and District Lions Club. On Saturday, October 22nd, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wade attended the wedding of Suzanne Wicezorex and Richard Holdaway in Detroit and spent the weekend with Richard's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Holdaway. We extend congratulations to Mr. Harry Wade, who, on Thursday evening, was presented presented with the Meritorius Jewel, the highest award in the Independent Order of Oddfellows Oddfellows Lodge. The Wades were in Barrie on Friday and Saturday attending a Home Board Meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Don Murdoch, Manotick, were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wade and on Saturday night all attended the Grand Masters Reception in Oshawa. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Harris spent the weekend in Elgin- burg with Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Harris. They accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ferguson of Oshawa and returned home with Mr. and Mrs. Danny Harris, Oshawa. All attended the graduation exercises at Queen's University, Kingston, when grandson Michael Harris, second son of Lyle and Donna, graduated. All Michael's aunts and uncles from this area attended. We extend congratulations. On Saturday Mrs, May Burley and Mr. Arthur Clark visited Mr. and Mrs. Harold Burley, Bridgenorth. Area Libraries Planning for Three Fun-Filled Kids Shows It was a capacity crowd at the Newcastle Lions Hallowe'en Party held at the Community Hall in Newcastle Village on Saturday night. Admission was free to everyone wearing costumes and funds raised from the program will be used by the Lions in their community projects. Just a few of those in attendance at the party are shown here. Durham Chapter O.E.S. New Officers Installed Tickets are now available for a series of three fun- filled children's shows which will take place at the Newcastle Village Hall. The first performance of the Newcastle Public Library's Library's Super Series will be Thursday evening, December December 1, at 7:30 p.m. Guests will be Jim and Rosalie, stars of television and recordings, who will perform a concert for kids. The next show will be a "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" by Erewhon Theatre on Saturday, February February 11, at 2:30 p.m. This will be followed by Cascade Theatre's "This Can't be Happening at Mcdonald Hall" on Tuesday, March 13, at 7:30 p.m. A family ticket for all three shows is available for $20, and individual tickets are also available. Further information may be obtained obtained from any branch of the Newcastle Public Library Library or by phoning the Newcastle Village branch at 987-4844. A super series of three shows is also underway at the Orono Public Library. The first show, by the Erewhon Theatre took place Saturday, October 22. Coming up are shows by Dorothy Kleidon with her Pocketful O' Puppets and The Rag and Bone Puppet Theatre. The next show for the Orono Library will be held December 17, at 10:30 a.m., at the Orono Town Hall. This performance will feature feature a puppet play entitled "The Forgetful Santa Claus".
