Mr. Dupuis added that the condition of gabion walls surrounding the mouth of the tunnel has been checked and he said the steel baskets are generally intact. Periodic checks will be made to ensure that the gabions gabions are wired shut, Mr. Dupuis said. Council has approved the hiring of an adult supervisor supervisor who will watch the' tunnel in order to ensure that youngsters using it are not harassed by bigger children children who occasionally hide inside. Bowanville High School contributed over $2,000 to this year's United Way campaign. The donation represents an increase of approximately $1,500 over the funds raised in 1982. A cheque from the high school students was turned over to a United Way representative on Tuesday, November 1, at BHS.
