Our "Warmest Wishes" fora happy belated birthday to Bruce. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Malcolm, Nestleton, attended the family reunion of the. Langmaid-Brooks clan held in Solina Hall on Sunday. On Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Malcolm were head table guests at Rotary Past President's Night held in the I.O.O.F. Hall, Port Perry. Mrs. Yvonne Holland, Chad and Craig of Bowmanville spent Wednesday with Grahame and Neta Fish. Guests with Sam and Mabel Cawker, Scugog Point Road, this past week were: Alan and Eleanor Cawker of Oshawa. So nice to see Eleanor improving in health - keep up the good work! Grant Cawker and son Chris -. also of Oshawa - spent a couple of days at the farm as well. Heartiest congratulations congratulations to Bob and Marg France - they celebrated their 45the Wedding Anniversary Anniversary on Sunday, November 13th. Our "very best wishes" for many more happy years together - a great couple - and the best neighbours one could have. Wedding Anniversary of Interest On Saturday, Don and Norma Frew and daughter Virginia, Nestleton, attended the 25th Wedding Anniversary Anniversary of Don's brother and wife- Gordon and Marie Frew of Norwich. The "festivities" were held in the Community Centre with approximately approximately 200 relatives and friends present to extend "best wishes." Mr. and Mrs. Frew Senior, of Norwich were able to be present for the special occasion. Our very best to Gordon and Marie for many more happy years. A great get-together! On Sunday, Don, Norma Norma and Virginia went to a birthday party in honour of Norma's big day- "hosted" by her three sisters and their husbands- Glenn and Velma Anderson, Ken and Shirley Reavely and Arthur and Joyce Stewart. A festive family family celebration with all the trimmings- enjoyed so much- as Norma doesn't see her family too often. Happy Birthday to Norma Norma from a host of friends! Caesarea Youth Club The Caesarea Youth Club held their last dance on Friday, Nov. 11th- 7 to 10 p.m. at the Community Community Centre, and although very poor weather prevailed - a good attendance attendance was on hand. Winners Winners of the Spot Dance were: Vicki Newsome and Mike Bosley- and rec'd records and prizes. Disc jockeys- John Priebe and Pat Murphy. Refreshments were enjoyed enjoyed by the youngsters. "It's Just Your Nerves" Chaired by Judy Filler- Durham Region Public Health Nurse- the presentation and informal informal discussion "It's Just Your Nerves" held in Nestleton Community Centre on Wed. evening was a decided success. Approximately seventy women gathered to hear excellent presentations by Linda Lowery and Eleanor Caesar of Pinewood Centre (Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre) and Margaret Simmons of the (Addiction (Addiction Research Foundation). Foundation). Many pamphlets were distributed and a lively discussion period ensured. The evening was sponsored by Durham West Women's Institute and Durham Regional Health Unit. Refreshments were served- courtesy of Blackstock and Nestleton W.I. On November 16th- the program program will be repeated at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at Bowmanville Lions Centre if anyone missed it. Remembrance Day Service Although Friday, November 11th was very cold and stormy- the Township Remembrance Service went of well with a good attendance of students and approximately approximately fifty adults. The address was presented by Rev. Ansley Tucker and the pianist was Linda Linda McLaughlin. Blue Ray Friendship Night A number from Cartwright Cartwright were present for the "friendship" night held by Blue Ray Chapter No. 238, held in the Masonic Temple on Thursday evening, Nov. 10th. Due to cold and rain- a smaller attendance attendance than ususal. Worthy Worthy Matron Elsa Bongard and Worthy Patron Chris Dennis did exceptionally well for their first meeting- and extended a cordial, fraternal welcome to all. After completion of a lengthy business period- Chapter closed in regular form. A draw convened by Marjorie McCombe in aid of Estarl work- was won by Barbara Mosier, Oshawa ; Minnie Fisher, Caesarea and Kay Walker, Scugog Island. Lovely refreshments were served by convenor Judy Davidson assisted by Marguerite Mitchell, Doris Evans, Ruby Smith and Olive Ormiston- and an hour of socializing was enjoyed. Next month- Christmas Party. Try to attend and join in the fun. Church New A cold wintry day on Sunday and the congregation congregation at Nestleton United was smaller than usual. Rev. Dale Davis spoke on "The Watch Hour" based on Holy Scriptures- Habakkuk 2: 1-4 and Matthew 25:1-13. A ladies quartet sang "The Song of Peace" - organist- Gwen Malcolm. Youth Sunday- Nov. 20th-11:15 a.m. Try to join with us- interested persons will be warmly welcomed. Nestleton Presbyterian had an excellent excellent congregation. Rev, Fred Swann chose as his text Isaiah 41: 10- quoting the verse "Fear not, For I am With Thee, I Will Uphold Thee with the Right Hand of my Righteousness."
