Given in marriage by her father, the bride was radiant in her formal gown designed with a Spanish lace bodice, stand up collar, long fitted lace sleeves with ruffles at the wrists, and a scalloped ruffle at the yoke. A chiffon skirt with lace apron front, flowed into a full length chapel train with a deep lace flounce. Her side swept hat of Spanish lace and chiffon, with silk flowers on the upturned brim featured a buff bow with a flowing veil. She carried a j •bridal Douquet of yellow roses and baby's breath. The meeting was opened with the 4-H pledge and the roll call which was "Name a new food or spice that you learned to like during the project." We then went over the last pages of the book and filled in the blanks. Mrs. Killeen then showed us how to model our costumes for the Achievement Program on November 18 at Kirby School. The leaders checked our books. We then had a piece of cake and played the game Roulette Review until our parents came to pick us up. Give.. efy /te the ^Beet in Sight Orono United Church was the setting for a lovely wedding wedding on Saturday, October 1st, 1983, at 4:00 p.m., uniting in marriage Mary Ellen Lowery and Laine Edward Gibb. The bride is the daughter daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Lloyd Lowery of Kirby, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Gibb of Whitby. The Reverend Wayne Wright performed the double ring ceremony. The organist was Mr. David Gray and Mr. Ross Metcalfe sang "The Lord's Prayer" and "Theme from Ice Castles." The bride, given in marriage marriage by her parents, looked radiant in her formal gown of carnation white chiffon with high neckline and a fitted bodice adorned with chantilly lace and pearls. Small chiffon çapelets topped the long slim sleeves cuffed with matching lace. The long full skirt had an attached train which fell softly into a chapel train. A head- piece of lace and pearls held her cathedral length veil of imported French illusion bordered bordered with Chantilly lace, and she carried a soft flowing cascade cascade made up of white silk roses, white gardinias, white stephanotis, dark blue rosettes, rosettes, freesia's and soft white feathers. The bride was attended by her maid of honour, Miss Gwenyth Ard, Miss Donna Lowery, only sister of the bride, Miss Kimberley Gibb, only sister of the groom. All three were gowned in matching matching long, royal blue, taffeta dresses with ruffled, elbow- length sleeves, and a sash tied in a bow at the back. The best man was Mr. Larry Dunlop, and ushering were Mr. Michael Maurer, Mr. Scott Gibb, brother of the groom. They were attired alike, matching the groom in charcoal j^rey tuxedos. The reception was held at the Orono Community Centre, where the bride's mother received the guests, wearing a formal, dusty rose, chiffon gown with matching jacket, and complemented by a wrist corsage. The bride-groom's mother wore a formal gown of burgundy colour with a matching lace jacket also complemented by a corsage, assisting the bride's mother in welcoming the guests were the M.C. and his wife, the bride's Uncle Jack and Aunt June Siebarth. The tables were beautifully decorated with two-tone shades of blue, which extended extended to the head table and complemented the wedding cake, expertly made and exquisitely exquisitely decorated by Joan Henry of Bowmanville. Her sweetheart neckline, neckline, bodice and sleeves were trimmed in embroidered schifflie, chantilly and guipure laces. The junior bridesmaid was Jennifer Bateman, niece of the groom, who wore a peach taffeta dress with a peterpan collar and carried a bouquet fan of peach colored flowers. The best man was Cliff Bruton and the ushers were David Ibbotson, Charles Goschl and Kevin Peake. The wedding reception was held at the Bowmanville Golf and Country Club. Out of town guests came from Northern Ireland, Toronto, Belleville, Campbellford, London, and Kingston. The bride's mother welcomed welcomed everyone, dressed in a mint green floor length gown with a corsage of green, pink and white flowers. The groom's mother wore a street length dress of pastel shades. The couple spent their honeymoon at the Gray Rocks Resort, Mont Tremblant, Quebec.
