The Toros' Nicky Dennis gave the home team a lead which lasted for eight minutes before Markham started scoring. The opposition pushed pushed the Toros around and picked picked up many penalties in the process, but it was good team work that won the game. Bowmanville showed once again that individually they have many players who are as good as their opponents but their passing and phsitional play has not developed as Esso: Meeting your needs. Bowmanville 5 TTiornhill 3 The Toros started off putting putting a great deal of pressure on the opposition but soon fell behind by two goals. This proved to be a big let-down for Bowmanville because they started to play poorly after this, two defencemen on the same side of the ice, all forwards forwards along one of the boards, no passing, in fact doing everything the coach tells them not to do. Ian Knight gave the Toros the spook they needed in the second period when he scored a short handed goal, making the score 2-1. Bowmanville continued to play better but when two players were in the penalty box, Thornhill increased increased their lead. A defensive miscue by Thornhill allowed Brad Lyons to put a loose puck in the net, making the score 3 - 2. Jeremy Laird tied the score with the assist going to Marc Pierce and then Jim Pithie scored the winning goal when Michael Colbourne fed a nice pass to centre ice. Jim had to try hard on this attempt because the Thornhill players were leaning leaning on him as he released his shot. The final goal was scored by Jeremy Laird who received a pass from Andrew Day whilst the Toros were short handed. Robert Romano showed us a few moves when he played the puck to the comers, moved around his crease and deflected deflected passes that were fired through his crease. Keep it up Robert. Toros 2 Uxbridge 2 This was a good game, the best the Toros have played for some time. Every boy tried hard, Robert Romano continued continued to improve in goal, the forwards came back to help out the defence and the defence defence did not let the opposition have many good scoring chances. Jeremy Laird scored the first goal with the assist going to Andrew Day but then Bowmanville fell behind when Uxbridge scored two goals. It was the third period before Nicky Dennis tied the score with the assist coming from Michael Colboune. During the game both teams had other good scoring chances and played entertaining hockey. -Port Perry 12 Toros 0 The Toros were out classed in this game. Port Perry skated fast, passed well and played position. The Bowmanville Bowmanville boys never quit trying and nearly broke the shut out in the dying seconds. It was a tough experience for the boys but they did improve as the game progressed. Boyle Bantam Selects Lose to Storey Park 6-0 The Bowmanville Boyle Bantam Selects met their match coming against Storey Park from Oshawa on Saturday, Saturday, Nov. 12 at Darlington. The final score of the game was 6 - 0 for Storey. This was the first loss of the season for the Bowmanville team coming up against a hard playing team, A number of penalties were taken by Storey Park with Boyle Bantams taking only a couple in the game. The Boyle team played hard but they were no match in this game. Stephen Conway played in net for Bowmanville stopping many hard shots. We will have to try harder on our next meeting against Storey Park. Triple F Bowling M. Griffioen 54, P. Flonk 49, G. Evers 48, D. Van Abbema 43, W. DeLange 38, H. Vander- gaast 36, A. Bonsma 35, B.
