If we within our homes teach honesty, tolerance, tolerance, co-operation and responsibilities, responsibilities, these are all attributes attributes of a good citizen and show that citizenship like charity begins at home. Mrs. S. Morton introduced Mr. Kingsley Van Nest, a local lawyer as our speaker. Mr. Van Nest touched on three aspects of law as regards regards to women: 1. Real estate, our home, our biggest investment in life, 2. Assault in the criminal code, ' 3. Family law reform act of 1978. Mr. Van Nest clearly stated many of our rights as regards to these laws and how they affect us and what we can do. Many questions were asked and answered answered for us. Mrs. H. Cryderman moved a vote of thanks to Mr. Van Nest and presented him with a gift. The repeating of the Collect and singing of "O Canada" closed the meeting. Lunch of muffins, jam and marmalade, tea and coffee were served during the social hour by Mrs. Noordstra and her group. util penning - âüycett Redding Deneen Lycetl and Randy Henning were united in marriage by the Reverend John Peters on Saturday, October 8th, 1983, at 4:30 p.m., in Trinity United Church, Bowmanville. The organist was Mrs. Jean Billett and the soloist, Mr. Ross Metcalf. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Dayne Lycetl, 57 Hetherington Dr., Bowmanville, Bowmanville, and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Henning, 37 Duke Street, Bowmanville. The bride wore a formal gown of white silk organza over taffeta which featured an Empire bodice designed with a high neckline, full Bishop sleeves, highlighted with Chantilly lace. A long, full skirt was trimmed with matching lace flounces which fell softly into a chapel train. A matching lace and pearl headpiece held her cathedral length veil of imported French illusion net and she carried a bridal bouquet of red and white flowers. Wearing formal gowns of pink burgundy and carrying bouquets of pink carnations ,< accented with baby's breath ' were the maid of honour Miss Kim Nearing, and the bridesmaids bridesmaids Mrs. Fran Sleep, Miss Barb Henning and Miss Stephanie Sleep. The best man, Mr. John Wickens, and the ushers Messrs. Elgin Lycetl, Barry and Dayne Lycett were attired in grey tuxedoes with burgundy burgundy boutonnieres. The groom was also attired in a grey tuxedo. Receiving the guests at the reception held at Memorial Park Club House, the bride's mother wore a red street length gown with a corsage of red and white roses. The groom's mother wore a turquoise turquoise street length gown with a corsage of pink roses. Leaving for a honeymoon in Ottawa, the bride wore a grey pinstripe dress, burgundy blazer and a corsage of burgundy burgundy and white roses with baby's breath. Many showers were held in the bride and groom's honour, given by Marion and Marg Metcalf; Audrey; Kim Nearing, Nearing, Shirley Hasiuk and Pat Lunn.
