The Toros started off well, scoring two quick goals, the first coming off the stick of Brian Noble at 9:23, assisted by Chris Beck and George Pithie and the second at 8:58 by Chris Beck on passes from Brian Noble and Bob McArthur. Simcoe came back 51 seconds later to reduce the margin to one until Noble scored his second at the G:09 mark from Beck and McArthur. Simcoe responded with two goals only 21 seconds apart to tie the game at 3 apiece 'until Chris Beck gave the Toros the go ahead goal with only two seconds left in the first. Again Noble and McArthur got the assists. Simcoe scored the only goal in the second period at the 9:33 mark to even the score 4 - 4 and then went ahead in the third at the 11:25 mark. Bowmanville Bowmanville had several opportunities opportunities to get the equalizer but could not pul the puck in the net. It looked like the team was headed for their first loss of the season but they dug deep and proved they have a lot of heart and pride as they tied the game with only eight seconds left in the game. It took them only 30 seconds into overtime to score the winner and take the Championship. Championship. Brian Noble, who also was the M.V.P. of the game got the tying goal on passes from Kelly Armstrong and Chris Beck and Chris Beck got the winner on relays from Armstrong and Jamie Downing who flipped a beautiful! beautiful! pass over the defenseman's defenseman's stick to Beck who flipped flipped it over the Simcoe goalie. The Eagles scored four more unanswered goals in the second period to up their lead to 8 to 1 after two periods. Two of these four goals came in less than a minute while the Eagles were playing short handed. The late game, a four-pointer four-pointer between the Flying Dutchman and San Marino Chargers, saw the Dutchman remain the only undefeated team in the league as they doubled the count 8 - 4 on the Chargers. In their first game, Bowmanville Bowmanville met the team representing representing Sutton, Ontario. The game was a well played, hardhitting hardhitting match with plenty of scoring chances for both teams. Sutton opened the scoring late in the first period on a goal by Sutton's Dan McPherson. McPherson. In the second period, Bowmanville tied the score on a goal by Kenny Desmedt, assisted by David Faircy and Kyle Virtue. Sutton came back with another goal by McPherson McPherson lo regain the lead. Paul Stainton then pulled Bowman- ville even oil a fine passing play, assisted by Kenny Desmedt and David Faircy.
