Ajax scoring late in the first and early in the second held a 2-0 lead until five minutes into the second Mark Tripp pounded home a pass from Paul Boyle. Bowmanville's goal seemed to wake up Ajax and three more goals were scored before Brad Carnegie converted a pass from O. J. Sidor to end the second period. The McGregor boys were not to be denied one more as Paul Boyles capped off a pass from Mark Tripp but this was not to be the last as Ajax scored one more to end the game. Lose to Cobourg Sunday night the Jjoys travelled travelled to Cobourg and were quite confident playing the same team that they had earlier in the season handled quite easily. But again the "Bowmanville Luck" was with us. Scoring was opened as Mark Tripp slapped in the puck in a Men's Major November 23,1983 Piper - won 21, lost 15, 32 points; Perfect - 21, 15, 27; Stacey - 20,16,27; Etcher -19, 17, 27; Oke - 19%, 16%, 26%; Laird - 20,16,26; Edmondson - 19, 17, 26; Adams -19, 17, 25; Coombes - 14%, 21%, 18%; Wilcox -15, 21,18; Georgiou - 14,22,17; Pearson -14,22,17. Cobourg came right back and tied the score two minutes later. This was a game of quick goals as Bowmanville Bowmanville came right back as Mark Tripp took a pass from Aaron Ulrich and put it past the Cobourg netminder. It was now Cobourg's turn and two minutes later they tied the score. Bowmanville passed but it was not to be as Cobourg went up by one before the end of the first period. Good skating and play making by both teams was the order of the rest of the game with only Cobourg able to crack the score sheet midway through the third. The Toro curse was to continue continue as the boys moved on to Orono on Nov. 25. After giving up four unanswered unanswered goals in two periods, the spark seemed to ignite in the third as Brad Carnegie took a pass from .Craig de Blois and we were on the move. Troy Harness just a minute later, on the power play, took a pass at the point from Mark Tripp and Carnegie Carnegie and blasted it past the standing goaltender. Carne gie, playing a strong game for Bowmanville hit once more from Eric Janssens to end the scoring as time ran out. Blast Oshawa 5-0 Luck for the McGregor Toros couldn't be all bad and Sunday, Nov. 27 was the day. Playing the Oshawa Bruins, the boys came out of their shells and skated off with a well-deserved 5 - 0 win. First period scoring was a scramble goal by Craig de Blois, unassisted, beating the Bruins' goalie who had played well up to this point. Early in the second, Guy Freeman topped off a play from O. J. Sidor and Paul Boyle to push us to two. Late in the period, de Blois notched his second when he sped in to knock in a rebound from Mark Tripp and Brad Carnegie. The third period was Toro time as well as Carnegie moved in to cap off a pass from Tripp and Janssens and on the same shift to pop his second from Ulrich and Tripp. Congratulations to goaltender goaltender Lush for his shut-out.
