Region Approves 5% Rise In Day Care Rate Fees A five per cent increase in regional day care rates was approved last week at a meeting of the Durham regional regional council. Elected officials agreed to increase day care fees for a full day to $15.25, effective March 1. And in September of 1984, the rates will climb to $16.00 per full day. In a report, Commissioner Commissioner of Social Services, Doug Johns, pointed out that by 1986, the Durham Region must charge day care users the actual cost of day care services.
