Furman officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dranski, 112 Robson Cres., Whitby. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Allin, R.R. 2, Newcastle. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal white gown of poly chiffon with a keyhole neckline, bodice and bishop sleeves trimmed with guipure lace. Following the reception which was held at the Polish Veterans' Hall, Oshawa, the happy couple left for a honeymoon at Nassau, Bahamas. The newlyweds will live at R.R. 2, Newcastle. On June 12, a miscellaneous shower was held at the Polish Veterans' Centre, Oshawa, hosted by the mother of the bride and the bridesmaids. The bride and groom were entertained at a party hosted by the New Dutch Oven Ball Team at the home of Pete and Linda McCullough in Orono on Sept. 4. A presentation was made. A stag was held for the groom at Brownsdale Community Centre in Newcastle, hosted by the best man and ushers on Aug. 20. The bridal party was entertained at a rehearsal party at the home of the groom's parents in Newcastle. St Paul's U.C.W. The Salem unit of the St. Paul's U.C.W. held their December meeting at the home of Audrey Shirk. Kay Stephen opened the business with a poem entitled There's A Song in the Air. Kay Stephen reported that everythjng had been cleared from th>\,Salem Church prior to the purchase closing date. All except a few dishes had been disposed of. Kay suggested that we donate the dishes to the South Oshawa Community Development Project and everyone agreed. Plans were discussed for members to look after the local shut-ins for Christmas. Carol Barraball conducted the worship programme followed by Audrey Shirk playing a beautiful Christmas record. Iva Twist, Doris Craig and Audrey Shirk presented readings depicting some of the different Christmas customs of other nationalities both in Canada and other countries. Carol is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Slute, while Mark is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wright, Acton. V _ j , Rev. John Peter'; performed the double ring q'eremony in the church, Which was appropriately decorated with burgundy, pink and white mums along with candles. Soloist for the wedding was Bill Slute, cousin of the bride, who was accompanied on the organ by church organist John Crookshank. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a formal gown of poly-chiffon. The high neckline, bodice and bishop sleeves were etched in soft Chantilly lace. The A-line skirt fell into a chapel train, trimmed in the same lace. She chose a matching head-piece and Romance-length veil trimmed in Chantilly. She carried a cascading floral design composed of burgundy, pink and white blooms. The maid of honour was Janet Brown, close friend of the bride, wearing a full length burgundy gown. The other two attendants were Debbie Wright, sister of the groom and Carie Hancock. Both wore full length gowns of pink, in the same design as the maid of honour. All three carried baskets of flowers in matching colours. Best man was John Majnarich, Toronto, school friend of the groom. The ushers were Allan Slute, brother of the bride, and Jim Gillam, Lakefield, cousin of the groom. The groom and his attendants all wore grey dress tuxedos and white boutonnieres. Photographer for the occasion was Larry Hancock, assisted by his wife Sharon. Following the ceremony, the guests assembled in the church hall where the reception was held. They were treated to a delicious beef dinner served by Unit 6, U.C.W. Receiving the guests were the bride's mother attired in a full length blue gown, and the groom's mother wearing a full length gown in ivory. Master of ceremonies was Lloyd Slute, uncle of the bride. Following the reception, the' guests were invited to the home of the bride's parents. The bridal couple left on a trip to the Carolinas. They are now residing at their new home in Acton.
