Craig German was in goal for the shutout, the second in league play both by Eagle goaltenders. The Eagles travel to Port Perry for a Tuesday night game this week and then host the second place Lindsay Trent Muskies this coming Sunday night in the Eagles' nest. McGregor Hardware Bantams Record One Much Needed Win On Saturday, Jan. 14th the McGregor Bantams entered the Woolwich Tournament at St. Jacobs. The first game pitted Bowmanville against . Streetsville and saw them come away on the short end of a 5 - 1 score. The only two highlights of this game were NonContact Hockey By R. Edmunds The Flying Dutchmen , picked up their 12th win of the season, a 9 - 3 rout of San Marino Chargers in Saturday's Saturday's opener. Sunday, the boys faced an old nemis in Trenton and once again saw the wrong side of a 4 -1 score. Once again the only highlights were the single effort of Britt Cole on his goal and steady goalkeeping of Darrin Bunker. Coming home with tail between between their legs, the boys faced Cobourg on Monday night. With a much better effort, they still found the wrong end of a 5 - 2 score. Scoring for the McGregor Hardware Toros were Paul Boyle from Craig deBlois, the second Eric Janssens from Brad Carnegie and Guy Freeman.; A much 1 , needed win finally came on Sat., Jan. 21 as the Oshawa Bruins were to be the victims. Bowmanville scored early, Paul Boyle from Brad Carnegie and Arron Ulrich. Oshawa was to tie the score before the end of the first with their only goal. Period two saw the Toros score two more, one Eric Janssens from 0. J. Sidor, the second Craig deBlois from Carnegie. It seems the boys needed period numbers in this contest as in the third, three more goals appeared. The first was by deBlois from Rob Real, number two Janssens from Mike Kane and number three, Carnegie from Albert Big Canoe. Once again, steady goal keeping by both Bunker and Lush held off any concerted attack Oshawa was able to muster. The boys' next game will be Sat., Jan. 28 at 4:30, opponent unknown at time of writing. The first period was dominated by King Garden who scored the first three goals of the game. George Sainsbury fired a hard shot from twenty feet out that caught the twine just inside the post. Assists on this goal went to Hugh German and Bob Hellam. George then scored his second of the night, unassisted, banging in a loose puck in the crease, Irv Gill, sporting a healthy tan from his monthlong monthlong holiday in the Caribbean, Caribbean, drove in Bowman- ville's third goal on a pass from Joe Balson. We than allowed the momentum to pass to Orono and never regained regained our early form. The Orono line of Fames, Garnett and McCullough were responsible for the next seven goals.
