Auctioneer Earl MacKinnon 655-3526, 6-1SN Boyle Bantam Selects Win On Saturday, Feb. 4th the Boyle Bantams went to Wasaga Beach for a two-day tournament. On Saturday we met Port Elgin. Brad Rushak started the scoring for the game on a pass from Brad Sainsbury. Boyle's other goal was by Paul Brunt from David Reid and Tim Smith. Port Elgin was a big and strong team which proved to be too powerful for our boys by scoring seven goals against us to make the score 7 - 2. Saturday night, the Boyle boys came up against another good team from Kitchener. This time the boys were luckier winning the game with the final score of 3 - 0. Kevin Flintoff began the scoring in the first period from a pass by Carl Feadema. Carl then came back later in the period to score, with assists going to Kevin and Brad Sainsbury. In the second period Chris Bloedorn added the final goal for the game with an assist going to Shawn Broome. In this game, Kevin Flintoff received a mesial for M.V.P. and both goalies Stephen Conway and Paul Stephens received pins for having a shut-out. On Sunday, we played the host team of Wasaga Beach. Opening the scoring in the game was a goal by Tim Smith from a pass by Paul Brunt and David Reid. We held our own until Wasaga tied up the game. With less than a minute left in the second period Wasaga scored again to make the score 2 -1 for them and this proved to be the end of the scoring in the game. Stephen Conway did the net minding in this game and Tim Smith received a medal for the M.V.P. for Bowmanville. The Bowmanville boys worked hard in all three games, never letting up once.
