He is now attending University. John Manuel is a well known accountant and musician around town. Many of you will recognize him. Carol Hancock sells real estate and you may have run into her at the tennis court or on the ski slopes. A1 Nichols lives in Hampton and is a teacher. You will recognize him from other B.D.W. productions. Emma Martin lives in the Newcastle area and is a student of Early Childhood Education. John Amesbury, one of our well known actors, is a teacher at Clarke High School and sings in the choir at St. John's Anglican Church. Linda Aldridge is a Bowmanville resident. Her husband is Fire Chief and she describes herself as a domestic engineer. Sharon Thompson lives in Bowmanville. You may have met her at a fitness class at the "Y" or perhaps she works with you at St. Mary's Cement. Vic Goad lives in Bowmanville Bowmanville and works for the Region. Hobbies represented included many collections such has stamps, stuffed stuffed animals, hats, stickers, buttons, and coins. Twenty one members of the family were present for a buffet dinner. Sandra and Mike Corrigan and their son Sean, Oakville, spent the past weekend with her parents, Steve and Lois Nimigon and Joanne. Dinner guests Sunday included their nephew, Laverne Nimigon and family from Toronto. Friends of Steve and Lois Nimigon will be pleased to learn that their son Wayne was able to return to work this past week following a serious injury to his ankle last August, requiring several operations' and extensive therapy. Our resolution re - the removal of provincial sales tax on children's and babies' items (with the exception of those classified as toys) was signed and forwarded on to District Level. Mrs. Morely Flintoff was presented with a small gift, as she and her husband had just recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary. The Roll Call "Something new and different I saw last summer," had many varied and interesting answers. The theme of the program was Agriculture and Canadian Industries, Mrs. Louise Bell convenor, began by all singing Hymn of All Nations, with Mrs. Amacher at the piano. Mrs. R. Kinnear had some very interesting thoughts and suggestions on the motto - "Spend a thought before you spend a penny." Mrs. Bell introduced Mr. Le Forest of the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Area. He used slides to acquaint us with the watersheds and conservation areas around us. He also told of the work and care required to prevent flooding to excess. He also works with the recreation parks which are visited by school groups. He had an interesting question and answer period. The next meeting is a Pot Luck Luncheon on March 1 at 12 noon.
