It began in 1922 when 10 service clubs from southwestern southwestern Ontario jointly adopted service to physically physically disabled children as their primary community activity. And since 1931, the Bowmanville Bowmanville Rotary Club has been part of the Easter Seal Society. Peter Kahnert, an area supervisor for Easter Seals, presented Rotarians with a certificate of appreciation for thé work they have done during the past 53 years. He noted that since the first provincial campaign was organized in 1947, Bowmanville Bowmanville Rotarians have contributed $166,000 to the Easter Seal cause. Rotarians were advised that there are 237 Easter Seal service clubs across Ontario.
