Bowmanville Bowmanville was declared the winner by virtue of having scored the first goal, a back door victory, but welcome all the same. Peterborough St. John's 3 Bowmanville 0 The Consolation Championship Championship was once again just out of reach for Bowmanville. Bowmanville. The Peterborough Peterborough team was just too strong, but credit must be given to the local boys who never let up. Even while once again heavily outweighed outweighed (literally) they kept up a concerted effort until the final buzzer. A day the parents could feel proud of. Pine Ridge Tournament Durham Building Supplies played well in the Pine Ridge Tournament. The Pee Wee 2's played very good hockey and advanced to the Championship final of the Toros Pine Ridge Tournament and could have won with a little 'bit 'o the Irish.' Toros 12 North York 2 The Toros were too fast for this team, they executed well and hustled, making them full value for the win. There were some nice passing passing plays. For example, Paul Hindman who was to the left of the North York net passed In front to Nicky Dennis who passed to Phillip Phillip Green who was open by the right post. The quick execution by these boys resulted resulted in a goal. The timekeeper timekeeper Chris McKee was injured injured by an errant puck and we trust his eye will heal quickly. A superb effort by all the boys, a game to remember. Toros 1 Milton 3 This was the final game and the local boys gave it their best shot and could have won except for three goal posts and one crossbar. The game was very even territorially, territorially, the Toros had more shots on goal than the opposition, but lost where it counted. The Milton team opened the scoring at the 15 sec. mark, a very careful passing play set up this goal. Milton remained calm, looked for the right play and make it work. The Toros could not capitalize when they had a two man advantage advantage for two minutes although although they had many fine opportunities. The Toros then found themselves two men short and Milton scored another goal. The Toros continued to put a lot of pressure on Milton and eventually Nicky scored an unassisted goal.
