With six team members sick or injured we iced a team with only seven skaters, even three members of the coaching staff were sick. The Toros jumped to a one goal lead after oniy 47 seconds of play. Geoff Goode stuffed in a goal mouth scramble with assists to Matt Doughty and Chris Brown. The Canadians with their extra skaters started to take over the play and they scored 4 unanswered goals. The Toros dug in their heals, and in the space of 38 seconds Matt scored 2 goals with assists going to Ron Luxton and Ryan Putnam. A valiant effort by the boys but the final score ended up 7-3 in favour of the Canadians. On Saturday, the Heritage House team evened the score for the week by beating Keswick 7-4. Most of the boys were back for this one but they still showed a few effects of the flu. Keswick went ahead 1-0 with a goal late in the first period. Martin D'entremont tied the game early in the second period on a goal, assisted by Matt Doughty and Chris Brown. Less than a minute later, Ryan Putnam put the home team ahead to stay with assists to Shawn McFadyed and Geoff Goode. Martin got his second goal on a nice play, assisted by Chris and Matt. Matt got the Toros' fourth goal with assists to Chris and Jeff Flintoff. Already with 3 assists, Chris added his first of 2 goals, with assists to Matt and Martin. Chris' second goal was assisted by Martin and Matt. Matt got his second of the game and 4th of the year on a nice passing play started by Martin.
