Minutes were read and approved correspondence and announcements were dealt with. Joyce Virtue gave our financial report. We had two special young people - "Charlene Potts and Cheryl Lepard, two of our Guide group with their leader Liz Kerr. Liz thanked the U.C.W. for their money and support. The two girls spoke to us on their camping trip to "Camp Adelaide" at Haliburton and some of the activities they take part in at summer camp. The leaders and parents are to be commended for their support and training of this large group of 24 Guides. Ella gave a brief report on the day at Presbytery and gave us all sheets with suggestions we use during Lent. Diane Werry introduced our guest speaker Rev. Paul Erb from Hampton who spoke to us on his life in Music. He taught music for several years. His playing and explaining the use of music was a prelude for a quiet thoughtful time and another for a time to be reused and get active. Several hymns were explained to us including the author, when to use, and the beautiful meaning in each verse. We all sang "What a friend we have in Jesus" to a different tune and found it a very joyous new change. Rev. Erb played hymn 356 while the offering was received and closed the programme with 568. "The day thou gave us Lord is ended". To say everyone enjoyed a wonderful evening of music and comments on how we use them would be weak praise indeed. We all wish good health and much joy for Mr. and Mrs. Erb in their new home and retirement. Merle closed the meeting with a short prayer and a social time was enjoyed with lunch and tea. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Werry and Carolyn Arnprior were recent visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Francis and Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Werry. INSTANT COFFEE 8 oz.
