Section Two Wednesday, April 11, 1984 King Garden Hosts 5th Tournament ..• ç The King Garden Oltimers hosted their 5th annual annual tournament on Saturday at the Memorial Arena, and it was Orono's Mom's Kitchen that skated away with the "A" championship. Orono defeated Belleville 4-3 in a game that was destined for overtime, overtime, until a miscue by the Belleville goaltender clinched the championship for Mom's Kitchen. Mike Kalynko presented the Broad Travel trophy to Whitby captain George Field, while the most valuable players, Larry Plaskilt of Pefferlaw Pefferlaw and Ron.Jobin of Whitby, look on. Â, *4: Town Sports of Bowmanville skated away with the "C" championship after defeating Oshawa's Ontario Motor Sales 6-1. Port Perry handed the Bert Jones Boys of Stirling a 6-1 loss to take the "D" championship on Saturday at the Memorial Arena. Mixed Curlers End Seqson with Banquet Business Girls Hold Closing Bonspiel The mixed curlers at Bowmanville Country Club wound up their season Saturday with a bonspiel and banquet. The spiel, sponsored by All Green Sod Farms was won by 1-r Nelson Brouse, skip, Donna Morrison, vice, Ken Pierce second and Fern Bullock, lead. ' Last Wednesday at the Business Girls bonspiel at Bowmanville Country Club, these were the winners: The Flying Dutchman trophy was presented by Manager Dan Reid and won by 1-r, Ellen Parberry, Susan Wood, Cathy Labrie and, absent, Pat Chidley. First schedule winners who received the St. Marys Cement trophy were 1-r Glenn McLeod, second, Andy Walker, skip, Glenn Hodgson, lead and absent! Dorothy Anderson, vice.
