Bill reminisced of the years gone by and stated he had enjoyed every minute. Bill started the first "Business Men's Trot", and donated the first cooler. Myrtle was presented with a lovely cascade arrangement of red carnations by Mrs. H. Bradley. Mr. Howard Bradley introduced introduced the guest speaker, Mrs. David Larmer, from Agriculture Agriculture Canada, Toronto office. Mrs. Larmer brought an interesting challenge to the directors and reminded them they must always keep their fairs a "showplace for the public." ' V - ' -- - 1; - vy.' 1 - Canadian Order of Forresters News Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Yeo and Scott, Orono spent the past weekend at the Howard Johnson Airport Motel, Toronto, attending the Eastern Ontario Provincial Assembly for the Canadian Order of Forresters, where Alvin was installed as District Deputy for the E.O.P.A. The Bowmanville lodge, of which Alvin is a member, won the Membership and Sportsman Sportsman Trophy of the year award and the Bowmanville Ladies won the Most Achievements Award. Orono United Church News The beautiful Easter lilies at the front of the church were placed in memory of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Brown, and placed by the family. Mr. Robert Chater led in Psalms and scripture readings readings and David Staples gave the children's story. Happy Birthday to Mary Groot who celebrates April 15. Our congregation and entire community were shocked and saddened to hear of the sudden and tragic loss of Mr. Walter Ormiston, on Friday evening. The families and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Ormiston were hosting a celebration for them in honor of their recent marriage (Feb. 25) on Friday evening at Orono Community Centre, when Mr. Ormiston suffered a fatal heart attack.
