LIMIT LB. JOHN THEODORE IIAYES The death of John Theodore Hayes, aged 70, occurred on Friday, March 30th, 1984, at Oshawa General Hospital. He had been ill for six days. Son of the late John and Grace (Haigh) Hayes, he was born at Rochester, U.S.A., and educated at Uxbridge and Scarborough. He was married October 16th, 1948, to Margaret Jean Day. A resident of Bowmanville for 17 years, he had resided in Port Perry for 20 years, and at R. R. 3, Uxbridge before the war. Employed by Ontario Hydro as a lineman, and then in Consumer work, he retired in 1976. He had worked with Ontario Hydro in Uxbridge R.O.A., and later, Bowmanville Bowmanville R.O.A. GEORGE RICHARDS A resident at 121 High Street, Bowmanville, for more than 30 years, Elsie Marguerite Marguerite Richards, aged 73 passed away on Sunday, April 8th, 1984, in Memorial Hospital, Hospital, Bowmanville. Born and educated in Bowmanville, Bowmanville, she was the daughter daughter of William H. and Emma A. (Prout) Yeo. She was married September 24th, 1934, to George E. Richards, who predeceased her in 1976. During World War II, Mrs. Richards resided at Nanaimo, B. C. She had also resided in Bowmanville at different locations. locations. She wis a member of Beehive Rebekah Lodge for nearly 50 years until her health began to fail, and at one time was a court reporter for The Canadian Statesman. Surviving are two sons Alan E. Richards, of London, Ontario, W. Glenn Richards of Oshawa, seven grandchildren, and three brothers, Clarence and Keith Yeo of Bowmanville, Bowmanville, and Bruce Yeo of Oshawa. She was predeceased by two brothers Irvine Yeo of Peterborough, and M. A. "Pat" Yeo of Leskard. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at the Morris Funeral Chapel, with the Reverend John Peters officiating. officiating. Spring interment Bethesda Cemetery. Daughter of James and Jean Kennedy, she was born at Doon. She was educated at Doon and at Bowmanville, and was married June 19th, 1937, to Norman Cowle. She had been employed at Specialty Paper Co., Bowmanville, Bowmanville, retiring three years ago. A member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, she had resided in Bowmanville for 40 years. Left to mourn her passing are her husband, four daughters daughters Helen (Mrs. Merl Shantz), Norma (Mrs. Clinton Ferguson), Patricia and Leila Cowle, sisters Min (Mrs. Leslie Finn), Arlene (Mrs. Howard Patter), 10 grandchildren grandchildren and two great grandchildren. grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Saturday at the Morris Funeral Chapel, Bowmanville, Bowmanville, with the Reverend Wayne Chatterton officiating. Pallbearers were Messrs. Robert Shantz, Terry Bond, Randy Hays, Fred Gibson, Jack Knight and Murray Tighe. Many beautiful floral tokens were received in her memory, including tributes from E.A.S. Department of H.B.C., Church St., Neighbours, Bowmanville Foundry Staff, Specialty Paper Staff, Salvation Army, 5th Guides, and Brooking Transport Staff. Interment Bowmanville Cemetery. An adherent of Trinity United Church he was also a member of Fidelity Lodge, No. 428, A. F. and A. M. Port Perry and a life member of Port Perry Community Curling Curling Club. From 1942 to February 1946, lie served in the Royal Canaadian Corps of Signals in World War II. For many years his hobby was model railroading. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Margaret, a stepbrother stepbrother Fred Ball, of Guelph, and an aunt Mrs. H. Bateson, (Dorothy) of Detroit, Mich. Complete funeral services were conducted at the North- cutt Elliott Funeral Home on Monday by the Reverend John Peters. Mrs. Arline Ayre provided provided funeral music. ELIZA ANNE BERNIECE STOCKER In poor health for many years, Eliza Anne Berniece Stocker, aged 76, passed away at Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville, Bowmanville, on Saturday, March 24th, 1984. Daughter of William and Adelaine Kirkton, she was born at Alliston, and educated in Bowmanville. In 1932, she was married to Robert W. Stocker. A resident of 12 Second Street, Bowmanville for 65 years, she was a member of Trinity United Church and of the U.C.W. She has been employed employed as a bookkeeper prior to her marriage. Left to mourn her passing are a daughter Berniece (Beaupre), a son, Robert Stocker Jr., and her husband Robert, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. grandchildren. The Reverend Arthur Amacher officiated at the funeral services held on Monday, at the Morris Funeral Chapel. Mrs. J. Albert Cole presided at the chapel organ. Many donations to various charities were made in her memory. Interment Bowmanville Cemetery.
